HOUSTON, TX - When facing elimination you need your best players to step up. 2017 RHP Jared Mack (Lamar Commit) has experience at being the guy to answer the bell. Mack did last week versus Cy Ranch and he did it again on Friday night. He gave his Panthers the start they needed to beat a surging Deer Park team. Mack was able to go 5 1/3 innings and only give up a lone run. Ridge Point would get 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st, when Ronald Washington (San Jac Commit) and Michael Cooper (McLennan) reached base via walk and HBP. Outfielder Aaron Allen drove in Washington with a double, and Zach Johnson drove in Cooper with a fielders choice. Allen would leadoff the 5th with another double and was driven in by Johnson who also doubled. Two runs in the 1st and a run in both the 4th and 5th would be all that Ridge Point needed. 2018 RHP Matthew Scott would come in to get the save throwing 1 2/3 innings of relief.

Deer Park went on to win Game 3 of the series 5-2, advancing to the Regional Finals next week vs. Ft. Bend Travis. Deer Park was led by Clay Aguilar on the mound. The Houston recruit threw a four-hit complete game.
