SPRING HILL VS. NEW DIANA - 2/5/18

Jacob Burton, RHP, New Diana HS, 2018
Arkansas Recruit. Burton is a pure athlete. In the outfield, at the plate, one the base paths, and most notably on the mound. He showed his speed scoring from first on an errant throw, and his power when he just about left the yard in left field. With the impressive physical attributes, it will be interesting to see what is to come. It didn’t take long for Burton to pop 93 MPH with his fastball, that sat in the 90-92 range. In his second inning of work, he started to spin the breaking ball at 80 mph.

Landon Dorman, RHP, New Diana HS, 2018
McLennan JC Recruit, the 6-foot-2, 165 pound frame still has plenty of room to fill out. Dorman cruised at 90 mph, turning it up to 92. Controlled wind up before exploding down the hill. He gets great spin on the 12/6 shape curveball (76-78), and it proved to be a tough pitch to handle.  The fastball really jumped out of his hand. He has a lower 3/4 arm slot that produces some good arm side run. Also a great athlete that showed some pop at the plate.
