The Texas high school season kicks off on February 19, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 26, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW

Blanco returns two-thirds of its starters and five pitchers from last year's squad. Each top player listed above received All-District honors. Staff ace Ty Preiss is a three-time All-District selection, posting an 8-1 record last season. Junior Tyler LaRue, ranked 127 ranked in the Texas 2019 class. will factor in as the number two starter for Blanco after going 6-2 last year. Eddie Calzoncit, a two-time All-District and 2017 All-State selection, will provide the offensive boost, he will look to build on his sophomore season in which he hit .387.
