Much like the soundtrack of their parents yesteryears, the Georgetown boys were born to run. Head coach Adam Foster’s team has successfully implemented the importance of the stolen base, so expect more of the same from a program that has successfully stolen no less than 120 bases over the past four seasons. A pair of seniors, Parker Tadlock and Robbie Isenhour, carry over a combined 40 steals from a season ago into this spring. Both Angelo State signees, Tadlock, the District’s reigning Offensive MVP and Honorable Mention All-State selection, is a high-energy hitter who not only hits for average, but finds ways on base. Isenhour, the Eagles starting catcher, hit .284 with a .395 OBP a season ago en route to a 2nd-Team All District spot. One of the better hitting prospects in the country, Texas Tech commit Cole Moore brings raw pull power and a projectable skill-set into his junior year.

The Georgetown pitching staff starts with Trent Baker, he of the 1.88 ERA a season ago. Last season, Baker tossed the Eagles' only no-hitter and was selected 1st Team All-District. Senior Jack Engelmann, a Texas A&M Corpus-Christi, is a crafty right-hander that adds a solid veteran presence into Coach Foster’s rotation. Junior Wesley Gafford, already committed to TCU, is a massive 6-foot-5 righty with a fastball ranging from 85-88 MPH hoping to add more consistent breaking stuff into his repertoire. Keep an eye out for 6-foot-2 sophomore Jack Brinley to add some valuable innings to the Georgetown staff this year.
