TEXAS-  A look at a loaded group of high-ceiling athletes from around the state who's stock rising before the season came to an abrupt halt.

Sawyer Robertson, OF, Lubbock Coronado, 2021
Committed to Mississippi Sate for both Baseball and Football earlier this spring. stands out on the diamond for his highly-projectable, 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame that has plenty of room to tack on significant strength. Long and loose, Robertson’s approach is a bit raw at the plate with very minor separation of the hands as they seem to work the barrel to the ball directly from the ear on a level plane. Having said that, his ability to produce stood out as he notched two ground ball singles before I headed to another game, and added a home run in my absence. Although the swing is less athletic than anticipated given the frame and gridiron accolades, there is clearly some upside.

Jose Vargas, SS/OF, 2022  (Clear Springs, Adidas)
Houston Recruit. Is gonna be really fun to watch over the next couple of years. The left-handed hitter has posted an exit velocity of 87 mph off the tee. Runs a 6.77 and with his 6-foot-2, 170-pound, wiry-athletic frame, he has quality footwork and quick-twitch actions on the infield.

Elliot Foreman, C, 2023 (New Diana, Five Star Performance)
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 182-pound athletic frame. The RHH has a balanced setup slightly open, uses a slight leg lift to start his load, barrel stays through the zone well and gets good extension in his finish. Behind the plate, has registered a 2.05 pop time. Clean exchange and footwork with good blocking with soft hands. 7.29 runner in the 60.

Homer Bush Jr, OF, 2020 (Southlake Carroll, Stix)
Grand Canyon Recruit. Extremely athletic 6-foot-2, 185-pound body, lean and quick twitch. Bush has an upright stance, wide stride with length from hand load, hands drop into launch position, and get good leverage up into contact. Twitchy bat speed produced 90 mph exit velocity off of tee, projects to have more with added strength. Smooth actions in the outfield. Nice load and rotational action into throw. 88 mph.
