2018 UIL Team Preview: Frisco Centennial

Toby Bicknell
Texas Scouting Director

The Texas high school season kicks off on February 19, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 26, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. If you don’t see your team’s season preview make sure your head coach fills out his Preseason Questionnaire.

SEASON PREVIEW

Coach Walsh returns four pitchers and four position players from a 21-win campaign last year. 2019 SS Weston Symes spent the fall on the gridiron for the Titans, and will lead the way in the middle infield. A two-year letter-winner and 2nd Team All-District selection in 2017, Symes is currently ranked No. 143 in Texas. 2018 C Jaxon Himel, a Cisco JC commit, will hold down the duties behind the plate and work with a pitching staff that looks to solidify itself in a very competitive conference. 2018 LHP Steven Pruett, a recent Odessa JC commit, will log significant innings this year, as well as 2 year letterman 2018 RHP Issac Maes
