Prospect Preview

Thomas Marquardt RHP / RHP / Harlan , TX / 2022

Athletic RHP out of San Antonio, throws with a short arm path and has a fastball in the upper 80’s. will throw 2 different breaking balls but the slider is the pitch that tends to play best in the outings our PBR staff has seen. Will throw a CB 71-73 mph and a late hard slider at 81-82 mph.

Charlie Bower LHP / 1B / Lake Travis, TX / 2022

6’8 LHP up to 88 this summer. Long loose arm path, another with an extremely high upside as he continues to develop. Breaking ball is still improving but was able to flash a few quality changeups with arm side action over the summer.

Luke Steward RHP / 1B / College Station, TX / 2022

High spin rate metrics on both FB and BB. Steward spun the FB up to 2500 as well as the breaking ball up to 3000 rpm in the s tx underclass games. Sleeper of an arm in the state with and athletic long loose frame, Never seems to get squared up and has the ability to get swings and misses with both pitches without having plus velocity.

Adrian Najar RHP / SS / South Grand Prairie, TX / 2022

Came out to North Texas Top Prospect Showcase and shined. FB sat 89-91 with some arm side action and paired it with a Ch at 83 with arm speed and deception as well as a Cb at 70-73. Najar showcased his strike throwing ability with all 3 pitches. Was a pleasant late summer sighting in the 22 class

Pierce George RHP / SS / Lake Travis, TX / 2022

May have the highest upside on the mound in the entire event. 6’5 – 200 lb frame with a loose arm up to 89 this summer. George will also flash a swing and miss breaking ball when its right. George also looks the part of a prototypical corner outfielder at the next level with power in the bat as well as an arm that plays from RF.

Carson Laws RHP / Antonian College Prep, TX / 2022

Athletic RHP up to 90 on the summer with a quality breaking ball that has depth off it. There is some effort in the delivery but has shown the ability to hold velo for multiple innings. Has had a quality summer with the South Texas Sliders group and look for him to make a splash at the future games.
