Texas Twelve 2019's: Quick Hits

KATY, TX - On Saturday, May 27th, we attended the Texas Twelve Scout day for 2019 graduates at Cotton Ranch in Katy, TX. Here are some quick hits on players that stood out.

+ Cade Sitka, RHP/SS/C, Foster HS, 2019
5-foot-11, 180-pound, strong frame. Although Sitka did not run the 60, he did throw 90 mph from the shortstop, and registered an exit velocity of 90 mph. Behind the plate, Sitka had pop-times of 1.83-1.96-seconds and 83 mph velocity. On the mound, the right-handers fastball was 85-89 mph. His curveball was 70-71 mph, and his changeup was 80-81.

+ Benjamin Holbert, OF/RHP, College Station HS, 2019
6-foot, 175-pound frame. Ran 6.83, threw 88 from the outfield with a clean arm stroke. Exit velo was 91 mph. On the mound, the right-hander was 84-85 mph with his fastball and touched 87-88 mph at the end of his bullpen. His curveball was 67-70 mph and his changeup was 78.   

+ Jake Gonce, C, Katy Tompkins HS, 2019
5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. Gonce had the second best pop-times of the event, throwing consistent 1.9-1.93-seconds and a velocity of 77 mph from behind the dish.

+ Jacob Miles Clack, LHP/OF, Seven Lakes HS, 2019
6-foot, 160-pound frame. The sophomore threw 89-90 mph from the outfield with a long, clean arm stroke. Although his velocity was only 79 mph on the mound, the left-hander has a clean arm stroke with more velocity to come. His slider was 73 mph, while his curveball was 66-68 mph.

+ Kyle Sonduck, IF/RHP, Katy Tompkins HS, 2019
5-foot-11, 175-pound, athletic frame. Sonduck showed a clean, quick arm stroke across the diamond with 82-83 mph velocity. On the mound, the right-handers fastball was 80-82 mph, with a curveball at 75-76 mph, slider at 77 mph, and changeup at 76-77 mph.

+ River Orsak, 2B, Barbers Hill HS, 2019
5-foot-10, 160-pound frame. Orsak started the day by running a 6.94-second 60-yard dash, then he threw 82 mph across the infield, and registered an exit velo of 85 mph.

+ Tanner Sherrill, 1B/RHP, Cy Woods HS, 2019
6-foot-5, 180-pound, lean, projectable frame. Ran 6.97-second 60-yard dash. His fastball was 79-82 mph with a 67-69 mph curveball, and a 74 mph changeup. His exit velo was 87 mph.

+ Cullen Sherrill, OF/RHP, Cy Woods HS, 2019
6-foot-5, 185-pound, lean, projectable frame. Ran 6.9-second 60-yard dash, threw 83 mph from the outfield, and had an exit velocity of 90 mph. His fastball was 81-82 mph, with a 69 mph curveball, and his changeup was 73 mph.

+ Caleb Garcia, 3B/1B, Homeschool, 2019
6-foot-3, 180-pound frame. Garcia ran well for his size, posting a 7.19-second 60-yard dash. He threw 84 mph across the diamond. On the mound, the right-hander was 81-84 mph with his fastball, while his curveball showed good shape at 71-73 mph.

+ Dylan Butcher, C, Barbers Hill HS, 2019
6-foot, 200-pound frame. Registered exit velocity of 92-94 mph.

+ Kade Sanchez, SS, Caldwell HS, 2019
Although undersized at 5-foot-4, 127-pounds, Sanchez showed the ability to handle the baseball in the middle of the field and threw with rhythm across the diamond with plus arm action at 85 mph.
