Hit: RH. Balanced setup with a smooth load and short stride. Fast bat speed with a good approach, long bat path with good extension showing good power from gap-to-gap and flashed raw power to the pull side.
Power: 94 mph exit velocity in BP
Arm: RH. C-77 mph. Short high ¾ arm action with good accuracy and good carry on throws
Defense: 1.97 pop time. Soft hands with a clean exchange and fluid footwork
Run: 7.42 runner in the 60

5-foot-11, 185-pound frame.  Left-handed hitter, short quiet load; fast hands, quick to the ball with a strong top hand, body worked in sync and rhythm through the swing 84 mph exit velo, explosive lower half helped generate bat speed.   Quick twitch actions behind the plate, flexibility and quick twitch to get to the ground to block, blocked a couple pitches in left handed batters box in bullpen, mobile.  Accurate arm, topped at 74 mph, ball consistently on bag, decent carry and ball stayed true; pop times ranged from 2.05 to 2.34. Ran a 7.39 laser-timed 60.

Nelson has a strong frame for a freshman at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. The left-handed hitter starts from an open, relaxed stance, then uses a knee-to-knee load with a slight leg kick as he triggers his hands back. Lands balanced, rotational weight transfer with natural lift, loose, quick, strong hands, projectable power to the pull side with an exit velocity of 83 mph. Behind the plate, Nelson posted pop times of 2.14-2.29 with a velocity of 73 mph from the crouch. Quick exchange, soft hands, directional footwork with average effort in a short, high-¾ arm stroke.
