SEASON OUTLOOK
The 2015 Mustangs were one of the better teams in Group 2A and narrowly missed advancing to the State Tournament. The 2016 Mustangs will suffer from the loss of some key bats from the middle of their lineup including Evan Davis (OF, Eastern Mennonite) and Chris Meador (MIF, Virginia Tech). The Mustangs do bring back a ton of pitching and will have one of the deeper pitching staffs in all of 2A with Nesson, Abruzzi, Lang, and Anderson leading the way. Marsden Davis returning for his fourth year behind the dish will solidify the defense and further improve the effectiveness of the pitching staff. If the Mustangs can replace the run production they lost to graduation, George Mason will challenge powerhouse Strasburg for the Conference 35 Championship this spring and have a chance to go deep in the 2A playoffs.
