Outlook
There will be a fair share of new faces leading the way for the Lancers this year in the Seminole District. Gone are the big three of Ezra Baier, Nathan Loyd, and Will Knight. Looking to fill some of that space will be a pack of players such as Christian Martin, Tyler Knight Lance Wendt, Tyler Hargis, and Timmy Byers. Offensively for Amherst, 1B Kyle Orme will pace the offense and look to build off his .276 BA and more impressively is his patience at the plate, with a .412 On-Base percentage from 2017. Look for Martin, Knight and Byers to also play a larger role within the offense. On the bump the Lancer will lean to Chase Roby as one of their top arms coming off a nice 2017 season with close to 30 innings. Look for Wendt, Hargis and Byers again to contribute on the mound for the new look Lancers. This transition year will be one to follow for the Lancers to see what the future may hold.
