As we prepare for the inaugural Commonwealth Classic tournament, our staff would like to highlight what to expect from # Greenbrier Christian Gators in this tournament, as well as some of their potential top performers.
Tournament Schedule: April 1st at 1:00 pm vs #7 Mills Godwin (Site: Hanover HS)
April 1st at 7:00 pm vs TBD (Site: TBD), April 3rd (Opponent, Site, & Time TBD)
After getting off to a 5-0 start the Gators have dropped two straight. The Gators have struggled on the mound early this season, giving up forty-seven runs in their last six games. However, they have shown the ability to win close games, as they won four straight games before this past weekend, all by one run. The Gators have the offense to make a run in the tournament, but will the arms hold up to the level of competition they will be facing. Senior Nico Angrisani (Bridgewater) has been in some big spots over the past two playoff runs and brings a wealth of experience in big games. The key may be a good, quality start in game one on Saturday and let things fall into place from there.
