Heltebran Leads Riverside Past Woodgrove

Senior John Heltebran drove in four runs behind 3 hits and two doubles helping Riverside to an 11-7 victory over Woodgrove on Tuesday night. 2021 MIF Patrick Sheffield, was 2-for-3, with a run scored, walk, RBI and a stolen base. Lead-off hitter 2019 OF Sajon Belser (College of Charleston) also added two hits an RBI, double, and two runs scored. 2020 Michael Walsh went 1-for-1, with a double, RBI and two runs scored.

2021 RHP Wyatt Shenkman, picked up the win pitching five innings, allowing five hits, five runs and five walks. 2019 RHP Gunner Canary pitched the final two innings, allowing two runs on two hits, one strikeout and a walk.

Woodgrove’s offense was led by was 2019 Timothy Blankenship, who connected for a 3-run home run. 2019 Johnathan Marquart also homered and was just shy of his second on a long fly to left center that was caught at the fence. 2019 Peyton Dean was the only Woodgrove player with multiple hits, going 2-for-4, with a double and an RBI. 2019 RHP Nicholas Lockhart (Virginia Tech) took the loss for Woodgrove. He pitched six innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits, while striking out four. 2020 LHP-Thomas Haller pitched the seventh inning, giving up two runs on a hit and a walk.
