The Rock Ridge Phoenix scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to overcome a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Mountain View Wildcats 5-3 on Monday.

Mountain View got the scoring started early in the game, jumping out to a 3-0 lead on Rock Ridge starter, 2021 LHP Brandon Clarke. After those two innings, Clarke got himself into a nice rhythm and shut down the Mountain View Offense for the rest of the game.

Andrew Neff (Concord) got the start for the Wildcats and was dominant through the first six innings, giving up base runners thru those six, and keeping the Phoenix lineup crossed up all day.

The game made a dramatic change in the top of the seventh inning with one out when Clarke, who was hitting for himself, drove a double to left center field. That changed the momentum in game as the next two hitters would walk to load the bases. An error the following hitter would allow two to score and make the score 3-2 Wildcats. A double to left field would score another while a wild pitch and final single would account for the five run explosion for the Phoenix.

Clarke then came out and completed the game with a quick 1-2-3 inning for Rock Ridge in the seventh frame to finish the come-from-behind-victory.
