In June, PBR VA/DC hosted the Top Prospect North Showcase at Patriot High School, featuring over players primarily from Northern Virginia. Over the next week, we will post the scouting reports on that event as we add them to each player's profile. Yesterday, we released the pitchers. Here are the corner infielders and catchers, in alphabetical order:

Brandon Austin, 3B, Battlefield, 2017
Austin is 5-10 and has a strong lower half. He hits from the right side from an open stance. He has a smooth load into a wrap with a leg kick stride. He has good balance and an explosive lower half. He has a fast bat with good extension and an exit velocity of 95. Showed a good approach with power to his pull side and a fluid swing. Arm action is short from a three-quarters arm slot and accurate, positional velocity of 75. Average hands and fluid footwork with a clean exchange. Ran a 7.38 60.

Nathan Cmeyla, C, Briar Woods, 2020
Cmeyla is 5-8 and has a lanky frame. He is a switch hitter, from the right side he has an open stance with a leg kick stride and a load into a wrap. Fast bat that works uphill with extension and an opposite field approach with a line drive stroke. Fluid swing and exit velocity of 80 from the right side. Exit velocity of 78 from the left side, where he has an open stance and a pull approach. In the infield, he has a short, loose arm action and a low three-quarters arm slot with some accuracy, positional velocity of 74. Fluid footwork and a clean exchange as he plays through the ball. Behind the plate, short, loose arm action from low three-quarters arm action, positional velocity of 71. Clean, quick exchange and pop times running 2.15-2.22.

David Drummond, 1B, Tuscarora, 2018
Drummond is 6-0 and has an athletic frame. Hits from the left side with an athletic, open stance. Smooth back load and short stride. Decent lower half and good balance with a short, slightly uphill fast bat path. Showed a good approach and is a gap to gap hitter with doubles power and potential for more. Fluid rhythm and exit velocity was 83. At first he has a loose three-quarters arm action and an accurate arm. Fluid footwork and clean exchanges. Ran a 7.34 60.

Jacob Evans, 3B, Fauquier, 2017
Evans is 5-10 with an athletic frame. He hits from the right side with an open stance. Smooth load back and a short stride. Decent lower half with good balance and a good approach. Short, fluid swing, line drive hitter with a gap to gap approach. Exit velocity of 78. Ran a 7.40 60. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action and some accuracy, position velocity was 70. Average hands and a clean exchange.

Noah Goins, 1B/RHP, Kettle Run, 2017
Goins hits from the right side from an open stance. Smooth load back into a wrap with a leg kick stride. Explosive lower half and good balance generate explosive bat speed. Short swing with good extension, good approach with power to his pull side and a fluid rhythm. Exit velocity was 95. At first base, average hands and fluid footwork, threw from low three-quarters arm slot with positional velocity of 68.

Brian Rall, C, Patriot, 2018
Rall has an athletic 6-1 frame. Hits from the right side with an athletic stance. Smooth back load with a leg kick stride. Decent lower half and good balance. Fast bat with a shorter path with good extension through it. Showed a pull approach and a fluid swing. Exit velocity was 92. Behind the plate, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short, loose arm action. Positional velocity of 78. Clean exchanges and an accurate arm, pop times were 2.00-2.12.

Tyler Shaffer, C, Kettle Run, 2017
Shaffer is 6-0 and has an athletic frame. He hits from the right side from and open, athletic stance. He has a smooth back load and a short stride. Decent lower half and good balance throughout his swing. He has a fast bat and a short path with an exit velocity of 90. Good approach and a fluid line drive swing that was gap-to-gap. Behind the plate, short high three-quarters arm action that is loose and quick. Position velocity of 74. Clean exchange, pop times were 2.06-2.28. Decent speed for a catcher with a 7.03 60 time.
