Collegiate is loaded with young talent and we got a chance to see it on full display this past Saturday.

Take a look at four uncommitted players in the video and notes below.

Carter Mitchell 1B / OF / Collegiate, VA / 2024

6-foot-3, 230-pound strong physical frame. Square, balanced stance at the plate. Simple stride landing on line and foot got down on time. Hands load back to separation. Mitchell showed the ability to really turn the barrel and accelerate through contact. He had two official at bats on the day and was intentionally walked later after making his presence known early on. Mitchell is aggressive out of the hand and has real strength that translates into the swing. Very intriguing power first baseman to know about.

Mason Quigley OF / RHP / Collegiate, VA / 2024

6-foot-2, 177-pound thin athletic frame. Quigley came on in relief of Rollison, working two and two-thirds, allowing two hits, and no runs. The right hander was scattered at times, but made some big pitches in big situations for the Cougars. Short arm swing and works from a three-quarter arm slot. The slot drops slightly on the breaking ball, but it was still effective in the zone. The fastball sat 76-79 mph and the breaking ball had 12/6 break and tended to back up to the arm side at 66-67 mph. He got himself into some negative counts and was able to work himself back, showing some solid poise considering the situations he was in at times.

Hartley Rahman SS / 2B / Collegiate, VA / 2024

Compact 5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic frame. Square stance at the plate, slightly narrow, and finishes on line. Minimal hand load and he is short to contact. Rahman has a level path, accurate barrel, and slight uphill finish. He did show some adjustability in the swing and kept the barrel in the zone. Mainly worked gap to gap and flashed a little bit more pop to the pull side. Contact bat with line drive tendencies and some occasional doubles power. Defensively, Rahman is a solid defender that makes the plays he is supposed to make. Average arm strength and ability to throw on the run. Played a solid shortstop on the day. Long term profiles more second base.

Hayden Rollison 3B / RHP / Collegiate, VA / 2023

Physical 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame. At the plate Rollison starts with a square stance, hands make short load, and hands stay inside at contact. Muscled a single into left center during his first at bat for a single. Rollison was pretty consistent on the day with contact. In his later at bats he was slightly out of time and did not necessarily get barrels on, more so the bat. Has the physical strength to produce power. On the mound Rollison had a strong start for Collegiate. He worked five and one-third innings. Shorter stride, lands slightly closed, and short arm swing on the backside. The arm works from a three-quarter slot and he falls off slightly to the first base side. The fastball sat 79-81 early on and touched 82. Rollison lacked some feel for the breaking ball early, but the control for the curveball got better as the game progressed. The curveball sat 68-71 mph and had a more gradual 11/5 shape.
