Starts in a tall quiet stance with a quick active load, then uses a short small leg kick. Has explosive bat speed, upward swing plane and good extension on his high finish. Found lots of barrels with a lot of loud contacts. Aggressive line drive approach. Smooth while in the infield, made throws up to 82 mph; had consistent hands, a natural exchange, and fluid in control footwork. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Had a longer arm action with a high ¾ slot. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.29.

6-foot-3, 230-pound strong physical frame. Square, balanced stance at the plate. Simple stride landing on line and foot got down on time. Hands load back to separation. Mitchell showed the ability to really turn the barrel and accelerate through contact. He had two official at bats on the day and was intentionally walked later after making his presence known early on. Mitchell is aggressive out of the hand and has real strength that translates into the swing. Very intriguing power first baseman to know about.
