Class of 2013 Rankings Updated

By Steve Nielsen

With the Super 60 in the rear view mirror it’s time to revisit the Class of 2013 rankings. We have seen a number of seniors over the past few months put their name on the map, and improve their stock. Most notably Evan Kruczynski (Franklin HS) climbed up to the No. 2 spot as he proved to be one of the top left handed pitchers in the region. His 88 mph fastball showed advanced command as well as a highly deceptive changeup.  Dan Jansen (Appleton West HS) also showed well at the Super 60, displaying soft hands receiving the baseball as well as showing pop to his pull side.

Newcomers, Beau Zeihen (Portage HS), Nicholas Heniff (Wilmot HS), Westin Wuethrich (Greenwood HS), Will Helbing (Waunakee HS) and Patrick Rankin (Rice Lake HS) all made the list. Beau Zeihen recently impressed with his athleticism and versatility, showing athletic outfield actions as well as being a reliable receiver behind the plate. Nicholas Heniff, a 6-foot-1 right handed pitcher has recently been up to 84 mph. While Wuethrich and Rankin have both recently been clocked at 83 mph with athletic frames. Will Helbing, a strongly built 6-foot-2, 200-pound outfielder recorded the fastest home to first time with a 4.08 at our recent Prospect Identification Showcase.
