Eastern Wisconsin Open: Statistical Analysis

We’ve completed our initial analysis of Monday’s Eastern Wisconsin Open by publishing our Quick Hits piece and, now, today’s Statistical Analysis of the event. Nearly 50 prospects came out to Sheboygan to participate in the pro-style workout in front of the PBR Wisconsin scouting staff for the second annual Eastern Open. Of that group, there were a number of prospects who put together strong performances from a statistical standpoint that earned some recognition in this post.

Two names, specifically, you’ll see plastered all over these leaderboards: SS/2B Brent Widder (Sheboygan North, 2019; Evansville commit) and C Trett Joles (Boyceville, 2021). The incoming senior Widder posted the day’s top 60-yard dash time and also produced the hardest velocity across the infield. He made loud and sound contact at the plate, too, and was up there in exit velocity as a result.

Joles is gearing up for his sophomore season at Boyceville after completing a highly impressive showcase event where he was the top catcher in both measured statistical categories (pop time and velocity) while also recording the day’s top exit velo – an impressive feat especially for his age. It seems like bat strength comes naturally for Joles and he’s clearly got the tools to excel behind the plate as well.
