Eastern Wisconsin Open: Statistical Analysis

The Eastern Wisconsin Open took place on Tuesday, August 22 at Wildwood Baseball Park, home of the Sheboygan A's. Prospects from all classes participated in a pro-style workout in front of the PBR Scouting Staff. Today, we begin the event analysis with a stats story.

Kaden Lehman (Portage) ran an event best 7.01 60. Not far off Lehman's trail was Max Bruff (Indian Trail) at 7.03.
Eric Venegas (Barquisimeto) set the standard for pitchers, recording the top fastball of the event at 87 mph. Jason Jennerjohn (Hortonville) and Bryce Staveness (Rio) followed at 85 and 84 mph, respectively.
Max Bruff (Indian Trail) and Noah Berghammer (Janesville Craig) were the only two prospects to break 90 mph in exit velocity. Bruff led the way at 95, Berghammer was just off the pace at 93.
After posting the top 60 time of the event, as well as a top fastball velocity off the mound, Lehman was clocked at 86 mph across the infield. Berghammer was once again just off the leader, posting 84 mph.
Staveness proved that his arm strength translates from the mound to the outfield, clocking the top outfield velolicty at 82 mph. Chance Larson (Elkhorn) came out firing, matching Staveness at 82 mph.
Blake Carey (University School of Milwaukee) took home top honors in catcher pop times (2.12) and velocity (74).
