Fox Cities Preseason I.D.: Infielder Analysis

PBR Scouting Staff

In our next edition of the Fox Cities Preseason I.D. positional breakdowns, we’ll uncover some of the surprising pop-up infielder prospects who attended the Feb. 17 event. There was some real talent that shined among the 70 players who took part in the Fox River Valley showcase.

One of the day’s biggest stories was the emergence of junior Fletcher Dallas (Valders). Dallas was a name completely unknown to our staff prior to his performance at the event. Presently a middle infielder, his frame projects him to move from up the middle to third base, eventually, where he has the arm and reliable glove to play there at the next level. His athleticism was on display in all facets of his game and he went from on off-the-radar talent to one of the event’s best prospects.

Half of the top-ten infielder prospects from the day were made up of underclassmen. Sophomore Ethan Habetler (West De Pere) really stood out for his strength, regardless of age, recording a 91 mph exit velocity. Fellow sophomore Will Semb (De Pere) is a genuine two-way prospect who happened to record the day’s best infield velocity, too, at 88 mph, four ticks harder than the next best.

To see where these names fell in line on the infielder’s top prospect list, continue reading on. We also have reports on each and every one of the infielders who took reps at the day’s event.
