We wrap up our coverage of the Fox Cities Preseason I.D. with the pitching analysis. Unsigned senior Jake Sommers topped out list as he popped out of virtually nowhere. Sommers didn't see any action on the mound as a junior and showed up to the Fox Cities Preseason I.D. pumping 87-89 mph heaters with aggressive secondary stuff. Sophomore Nathan Burns (West Bend West) also stood out with his advanced feel for three pitches and highly projectable arm. Max Alba (Franklin) was the top freshman arm and showed one of the top fastball's in attendance at 82-83 mph.
Here's a look at the top pitching prospects.
Top Pitching Prospects
1. Jake Sommers, RHP/MIF, Hortonville, 2015
6-foot-2, 175-pound two-way player, athletic frame, good athlete with occasional quick twitch. Projects best on the mound possible two-way prospect at lower level but arm on the mound projects much higher. Delivery is athletic with good tempo, works online, squared landing, follows the finish. Athletic slide step from the stretch. Arm action is quick, gets on top of the baseball and works downhill, loose arm action. Fastball sat 87-89 mph, found the zone repeatedly, good finish through hitting zone. Curveball is hard, fastball arm speed, 11/5 shape, sharp action, dropped for strikes, 74-75 mph. Changeup has sink, mostly kept down, fastball similar arm speed, 78-79 mph. Throws all three pitches aggressively, good upside. Raw abilities on the mound, didn’t see any varsity innings last year. Bat plays well, open stance, toe tap stride, drops hands at load. Hands are quick, athletic hitter, good bat speed, shows some quick twitch. 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed arm strength across the diamond (85 mph), winds up some to release, arm is athletic, can play on the move. Hands work and shows good mobility on the infield. 7.20 runner in the 60.
2. Nathan Burns, RHP/MIF, West Bend West, 2017
Highly projectable right-handed pitcher, 6-foot, 155-pound two way player, lanky athletic build, sloped shoulders. Tall and fall delivery is easy and repeatable, good rhythm, stays slightly closed throughout, squared landing and athletic finish. Arm action is clean, works quickly with length and looseness, high ¾ slot. Fastball has command, arm side run with late life through the zone, 82-83 mph. Off-speed pitches play up, well beyond his age. Curveball has 11/5 shape, sharp action, can drop for strikes, has conviction, 72-74 mph. Excellent feel for his changeup, fastball arm speed, advanced arm side action, ability to command it, sat 77 mph. High ceiling pitcher with advanced repertoire and highly projectable frame that will get bigger and stronger. Offensively hits from an open stance, leg kick stride, lower half works well. Athletic hitter, loose hands, middle of the field approach, short path with extension, 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively moves well on the infield, good actions and soft hands, feet work well. Athletic arm action, throws well on the move, arm carries across the diamond, 85 mph across the infield.
3. Max Alba, RHP/1B, Franklin, 2018
Young prospect with huge ceiling, highly projectable frame, long slender build, 6-foot-4, 170-pound left-handed hitting two-way prospect. Currently shows more upside on the mound, although bat really projects as well, average first base defender. Works from a full windup, clean delivery, tall and fall, stays online, good landing and direction, athletic finish. Arm action is short, over the top slot, quick arm that projects well. Fastball is mostly straight, four seam finish, 82-83 mph, pounded the zone. Throws slider that has downward action, occasionally backs up, 72-75 mph, throws aggressively with fastball arm speed. Sinking changeup shows promise, 72-74 mph, throws aggressively. Hits from the left side, balanced stance, short stride, good balance through contact. Short path, lacks extension, slight pull side hitter, hits with rhythm, fast bat, projects well with the bat. 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed average actions at first base, athletic around the bag, shows confidence. Short over the top arm action, 77 mph across the diamond. Ran the 60 at 7.52. High follow 2018 prospect, will be one of the top prospects in Wisconsin’s 2018 class.
4. Nolan Rebernick, RHP, Union Grove, 2017
6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic build. Tall and fall style delivery, works online, athletic finish, occasionally falls to first base side, up tempo delivery. Arm action is loose, has length, high ¾ slot. Fastball showed running action, topped at 84 mph, sat 81-82 mph. 11/5 curveball has gradual action, showed control, good feel, 71-73 mph. Changeup has arm side run, 70-73 mph, advanced action with feel for the zone, advanced pitch for age. Also showed a splitter with downward action, threw aggressively at 73-75 mph. Good ceiling, athletic shape with feel for multiple pitches, will continue to progress.
5. Trentin Uttech, RHP, Luther Prep, 2017
6-foot-5, 180-pound right-handed pitcher, large frame, good pitchers body, long arms. Smooth delivery, works online, open toe landing. Long arm action, lengthy high draw, ¾ slot. Fastball touched 81 mph, sat 78-80 mph, occasionally gets underneath, advanced fastball for age. Curveball worked at 64-67 mph, 12/6 plane. Slider has more lateral action, 10/4 sweep, 69-73 mph. Separates the two breaking balls well. Changeup has good arm side run, advanced action for age, deceptive arm action, good feel, 69-72 mph.
6. Jack Mahoney, LHP, Appleton West, 2017
Long projectable frame, 6-foot-5, 175-pound left-handed pitcher, prototypical pitchers frame, long legs and arms, plenty of room to fill, good ceiling. Fluid delivery works with tempo and direction, little effort, good athleticism, controls body well for size. Arm action is loose, has length, average arm speed, high ¾ slot, comes out of hand with ease. Fastball runs to arm side, sat mostly 77 mph. Threw two breaking balls, curveball has better feel and action, 1/7 plane, 63-65 mph. Slider backs up occasionally, ranged from 61-67 mph. Very projectable left-handed arm, easy delivery with athleticism, high follow in Wisconsin’s 2017 class.
7. Max Van Boxel, LHP/OF, Green Bay East, 2017
6-foot-1, 195-pound two-way player, good frame, solid build. On the mound delivery works with regular effort, stays directional, solid landing, front side can be stronger. Arm action is long and loose, high ¾ slot. 77-78 mph fastball, touched 80 mph, sneaky action through the zone. Curveball has 2/8 shape, decels arm action slightly, 61-64 mph. Changeup has arm side action at 67-71 mph, showed feel. Also flashed a knuckle ball at 67-68 mph. Left-handed hitter, tall open stance, long stride back to square, good balance athletic setup. Pull side hitter, some lift, uppercut path, good bat speed. Added strength will see the ball carry more, left handed power potential bat. 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively projects at a corner outfield spot, 7.22 runner, played through the baseball fluid footwork, shuffles through it. Arm played at 82 mph, high ¾ slot.
8. Paul Stefiuk, RHP/1B, Green Bay Preble, 2018
6-foot-2, 200-pound two-way player, primary right-handed pitcher. Lands square, works on line then falls slightly to the first base side. Arm plays from an over the top slot, has a strong quick arm that should project well on the mound. Fastball is mostly straight, four seam type, 78-79 mph, touched 80 mph. Curveball has gradual 11/5 action, 65-68 mph. Changeup is 69-71 mph with fastball similar arm speed. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, short stride that stays slightly open. Long path with some lift, some pop for his age. 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. At first base showed average actions around the bag for his age, showed the ability to play either corner infield spot. Arm works over the top 75 mph across the diamond. 8.51 runner in the 60.
9. Alec Morrison, RHP/OF, Middleton, 2016
6-foot-2, 175-pound two-way player, long frame, lean structure. On the mound works exclusively from the stretch, closed landing, directional, repeatable delivery, upright finish occasional recoil. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot, aggressive arm with some quickness. Fastball has run, slight sinking action, sat 79-81 mph, touched 82 mph, good late action in hitting zone. Curveball sat 68-71 mph, lacked command. Slider is hard, occasionally gets around it, 74-78 mph, could be an advanced out pitch if he stays behind it more. Changeup has arm side run, 74-75. Balanced right-handed hitter, short reverse toe tap stride. Lunges, rotational tendencies, level path with length. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm plays long and over the top, some carry and accuracy. 7.54 runner in the 60.
10. Mitchell Eady, RHP, Appleton North, 2016
6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed pitcher, thin lanky frame, body has projectability. Delivery works athletically, slight drop and drive style, slight coil at top of balance position, loads well over rubber, shoulders angled uphill in balance position then gets down the hill. Arm action is short and loose, some quickness, over the top slot. Fastball has slight run, feel for the zone, sat 80-82 mph, arm projects to have more in the tank. Curveball has gradual action, slightly decelerated arm speed, 60-63 mph. Changeup fades with slight sink, 69-71 mph.

Ethan Bartels, MIF/RHP, Green Bay West, 2015
6-foot, 130-pound two-way player, slender build. Right handed hitter, open stance, arm bar load, long swinging stride back to even. Level path with some length, 67 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with a loose, high ¾ arm action, 64 mph across the diamond. 8.48 runner in the 60. On the mound worked with regular effort. Fastball was 62-65 mph, touched 66 mph. Curveball has gradual 12/6 shape, 58-61 mph. Changeup has slight arm side movement at 60-62 mph.
Bryce Bradison, MIF/RHP, De Pere, 2017
6-foot, 145-pound two-way player, lean athletic frame with projection. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, average stride, linear lower half. Good bat path, stays inside the baseball, opposite field approach, occasionally lunges. 76 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed athletic actions defensively, fluid defender, slow exchange, long transfer. Arm action is long, high ¾ slot, 73 mph across the infield. On the mound arm and delivery are clean, balanced and athletic. Fastball is mostly straight, 72-74 mph, topped at 75 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 action, showed feel, 59-60 mph. Changeup has sink, 63-65 mph.
Harrison Collar, 3B/RHP, Appleton West, 2016
6-foot-1, 190-pound third baseman, athletic lean build, projectable frame. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, athletic setup. Loose hands, short path to the baseball, line drive type hitter. Flashed occasional pull side pop, 82 mph exit velocity from the tee, shows projection with the bat. Defensively showed some actions at third base, average hands, showed some foot speed in the 60, 7.17 runner, has the ability to show better footwork at third base. Arm plays from a high ¾ slot, 73 mph across the diamond. On the mound, fastball sat 72-74 mph, mostly straight. 11/5 curveball 58-59 mph. Changeup has some arm side run, near fastball arm speed, 64-66 mph.
Luke DePrey, LHP, Sun Prairie, 2018
5-foot-10, 150-pound left-handed pitcher, young build. Delivery works to third base side, opens early, toe up balance point. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot. Fastball is mostly straight, slight arm side action 72-73 mph, showed good control for age. Curveball has 1/7 shape, worked it mostly to his glove side, showed the ability to drop for strikes, 63-65 mph. Changeup showed arm speed, 66-67 mph.
Nate DeYoung, MIF/RHP, Xavier, 2018
High ceiling freshman, 6-foot-3, 180-pound left-handed hitting two-way player, lean athletic frame, younger brother of 2016 graduate Matt DeYoung. Projects best with the bat, advanced hit tools. From the left side stance is open, smooth load, short stride, gets lower half involved and maintains strong balance. Good barrel awareness, hard contact, loose athletic swing with slight uppercut, power potential swing. Short path with extension, fluid hitter with bat speed. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed some actions, hands work, size and footspeed will eventually move him to a corner position. Arm played at 84 mph across the infield, loose arm action that can play athletically. On the mound has a clean arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball has slight run, 74-75 mph, topped at 77 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 62-64 mph. changeup has slight arm side run, 69-70 mph.
Noah Duncan, LHP/OF, Notre Dame Academy, 2017
5-foot-11, 145-pound left-handed two-way player, lanky frame with projection, long limbed. Tall and fall delivery, regular effort, toe up balance position, lands squared with athletic finish. Arm action is long, loose, high ¾ slot, regular effort. Fastball has run, sat 71-72 mph, touched 73 mph, showed feel for the zone. Throws 1/7 shaped curveball, slurve type, 55-58 mph, tends to pull. Change has near fastball arm action, slight fade, 64-67 mph. Defensively played through the baseball, athletic actions, clean exchange plays through it fluidly. Arm works well, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, showed some carry, 77 mph from the outfield. Left-handed hitter, slightly open setup, slight leg kick stride. Long path getting to it, slight uppercut, fluid rhythm. 74 mph exit velocity from the tee.
John Edwardsen, OF/LHP, Norway (MI), 2016
5-foot-8, 145-pound left-handed two-way player. Hits from a slightly open stance, short stride, drops hands slightly at load. Pull side hitter, works around the baseball, 66 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm plays from a high ¾ slot, some accuracy, played at 72 mph from the outfield. 7.53 runner in the 60. On the mound delivery works to glove side, opens early, similar arm action to the outfield. Fastball is 71-72 mph. 1/7 curveball, dropped for strikes, 60-65 mph. Slider was slightly flatter, 62-65 mph, curveball had better feel for the zone.
Alex Gerhardt, MIF/RHP. Fox Valley Lutheran, 2016
5-foot-8, 160-pound two-way player. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, arm bar load, short stride, high back elbow. Path is level, line drive type hitter. Showed bat speed, 82 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a short arm action, ¾ slot, 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. Hands showed abilities, average footwork, 7.44 runner in the 60. On the mound Fastball worked at 76-77, touched 78, threw strikes. Curveball has 11/5 gradual action, 61-62 mph. Changeup flashed arm side action, 68-70 mph.
Jordon Gomez, 3B/RHP, Marshall, 2016
6-foot, 170-pound two-way player, medium build. Right-handed hitter, balanced setup, short leg lift stride, average balance. Path is mostly level, some length, repeatable contact. 79 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed some body control, average hands, can get into his legs more when fielding the baseball. Short over the top arm action, solid release, 72 mph across the diamond. Slight drop and drive style delivery, short high ¾ arm action. Fastball is mostly straight, 75-77 mph. Curveball sat 63-66 mph. Changeup is straight, 72-74 mph, fastball arm action.
Joshua Gonzalez, LHP, Appleton North, 2016
Good frame, 6-foot-2, 195-pound left-handed pitcher, typical pitchers body. Delivery works online, some rotation at top of balance point. Arm works with length, slight stabbing action, over the top slot. Fastball has slight run, some control at the top of the zone, 77-79 mph. Curveball works on more of a 12/6 plane, 65-67 mph. Changeup stayed down in the zone, good pitch with some deception, 71-73 mph.
Nick Goudreau, RHP/MIF, Appleton East, 2016
6-foot, 160-pound left-handed hitting two-way player. Tall and fall delivery, short over the top arm action. Straight four seam fastball at 78-79 mph, touched 80 mph. Curveball flashed sharp action, 12/6, 62-65 mph. Changeup has arm side action, 67-69 mph. Showed athleticism, good runner at 7.08 in the 60. Left-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride. Pull side hitter, longer path, right center line drives, stays flat through the zone. 82 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with a short firm arm action across the diamond, 68 mph across infield. Average hands.
Mike Gross, 3B/RHP, Hortonville, 2016
6-foot-1, 198-pound two-way player, large build, carries strength. Offensively hits from the right side, short stride, good balance. Strong swing, some uppercut, long path, power potential. Can get more out of lower half. Good bat speed, 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed average hands, lacked footspeed. Arm action is long, high ¾ slot, 75 mph across the diamond. Could project as a power hitting first baseman. 8.11 runner in the 60. On the mound uses a long sweeping arm action. Fastball has slight run, pitched at 74-76 mph. Curveball sat 64-66 mph, gradual action. Showed feel of a changeup at 66-68, controlled the zone with slight arm side action.
Jacob Hiltunen, 3B/RHP, Appleton North, 2017
5-foot-11, 165-pound third baseman, long legged, body has some projection. Hits from a balanced stance, short stride, repeats well. Works linearly to the baseball, occasionally lunges, simple swing mostly driven by hands. 79 mph exit velocity from the tee. At third base showed adequate hands and enough lateral movement for the position. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot and showed accuracy. 67 mph across the diamond. Ran the 60 at 7.38. On the mound delivery works online, closed landing. Arm action is short from a high ¾ slot, hides it some, similar to that across the infield. Fastball is mostly straight, 74-76 mph. Curveball sat 61-65 mph, gradual action. Changeup sat 66-68 mph, can improve command.
Christopher Huettner, LHP, Appleton West, 2016
6-foot-2, 155-pound left-handed pitcher, long lanky frame, slender build. Tall and fall delivery, works slighty across his body with open toe landing. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot, works cleanly with some quickness. Fastball has slight arm side run, 71-72 mph. Curveball sat mostly 59-60 mph, top of the zone. Changeup lacks separation from fastball, 68-71 mph, slight cut action. Added strength will help, arm works quick enough to carry more velocity.
Nicholas Imhoff, LHP/1B, Appleton North, 2017
6-foot, 160-pound left-handed two-way player, lanky frame. Tall and fall delivery, works down the hill, squared landing, over the top slot. Fastball showed cut action, 74-76 mph. Curveball has slurve type action, 63-66 mph. Changeup has fastball similar arm action, 69-72 mph. Offensively hits from the left side, slightly open stance, good balance. Slight opposite field approach, 77 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played short from a high ¾ slot, average arm strength, 75 mph across the diamond.
Garret Kaczrowski, LHP, Pulaski, 2016
6-foot, 195-pound left handed pitcher, solid build. Clean delivery, works online, squared landing, upright finish. Arm action has length, loose and clean, high ¾ slot, occasional downhill angle. Fastball has some sink, ranged from 73-77 mph. Curveball showed depth and control, 12/6 action, 65-69 mph. Slider backed up some, minimal action, 65-66 mph, curveball was the better of the two breaking balls. Changeup showed feel, near fastball arm speed, good control, 69-71 mph.
Maxwell Kuehn, LHP/OF, De Pere, 2017
6-foot-1, 155-pound left-handed two-way player, lanky frame. On the mound works from an over the top slot, works to his glove side, opens front side. Fastball has slight run, mostly down, downhill angle, 73-75 mph. Curveball has 11/5 action, near fastball delivery, 62-66 mph, flashed good action. Changeup sinks some, 65-67 mph. Hits from the left side, balanced stance, loads hands back and up, short heel lift stride. Long level path, pull side tendencies, works around the baseball. 69 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a long arm action, 75 mph arm strength from the outfield. Footwork can improve, 7.68 runner in the 60.
Joshua Kunstman, 3B/RHP, Freedom, 2017
Long thin build, 6-foot-3, 165-pound two-way player. Showed arm strength at third base for his age, 79 mph across the diamond, high ¾ slot. Actions funneled the baseball, corner type position player. Hits from a balanced stance, short stride, good balance. Loose hands with some whip, path is short and level, produced line drives, advanced bat speed for age. Linear hitter, could get more out of lower half, 89 mph exit velocity from the tee, has upside with the bat. On the mound fastball had slight run, 73-76 mph, touched 77 mph. Curveball sat 65-71 mph. Changeup has sink, slight fade, 64-69 mph.
Jackson Mandella, RHP/3B, Nicolet, 2018
5-foot-8, 145-pound two-way player, average frame. On the mound works with some direction, shoulders dip towards target, crouched balance position, high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 74-75 mph, touched 76 mph. Curveball sat 57-59 mph, slightly decelerated arm action. Changeup is 60-62 mph. Left-handed hitter, balanced stance, smooth loading action, short stride. Handles the bat well, barrel control, spray hitter, good contact. Path is short, line drive type, good bat speed for age. 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a short arm action, high ¾ slot, arm played at 69 mph across the diamond.
Tony Marquardt, OF/LHP, Oconto, 2018
5-foot-9, 160-pound left handed throwing two-way player. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, no stride approach. Produced top spinning line drives to the middle of the field, 73 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a short high ¾ arm action, clean exchange, arm played at 73 mph. Ran the 60 at 7.81, laser timed. On the mound arm worked similarly to that in the outfield. Fastball sat 70-73 mph. Sweeping curveball at 57-60 mph, tends to cast. Changeup sat 61-66 mph.
Leighton Myers, C/RHP, Little Chute, 2017
Long lanky frame, 6-foot-2, 170-pound catcher, slender build, body has projection. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, loads hands back. Path has length, slight uppercut path, projects some with the bat. As he fills out will see harder contact. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action has length, high ¾ slot, 71 mph out of the chute. Posted pop times at 2.30-2.37. 7.48 runner in the 60. On the mound arm works from a high ¾ slot, some length. Fastball sat 72-74 mph, mostly straight, four seam action. Curveball has 11/5 shape, slows arm some, 56-62 mph. Changeup has slight cut action, near fastball arm speed.
Evan Ostertag, RHP/SS, Green Bay East, 2016
6-foot-1, 155-pound two-way player. On the mound arm works with length, high ¾ slot. Fastball is mostly straight, occasional finish, 77-78 mph, touched 79 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, flashed action, 63-65 mph. Changeup works at 63-67 mph. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, longer stride. Long level path, occasionally late getting started. 70 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played at 72 mph across the diamond, high ¾ slot, showed some accuracy. 7.91 runner in the 60, laser timed.
Brandon Patz, RHP, De Pere, 2016
6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed pitcher, solid build. Works exclusively form the stretch, lift and go slide step style delivery, works downhill. High ¾ arm slot, regular arm action. Fastball sat 78-80 mph, slight downhill, showed some feel, could get more out of fastball with more load in lower half. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 61-64 mph. Changeup has slight sinking action, decelerated arm action, 67-69 mph.
Casey Roeser, C/RHP, Green Bay Preble, 2018
5-foot-9, 175-pound switch hitting catcher, medium frame, has some strength and projection in body. Offensively hits from both sides, similar setup and load, balanced stance with reverse toe tap stride. Good contact, slightly strong from right side, pull side approach left handed, works more gap to gap right-handed. Good bat speed from both sides, legitimate switch hitting prospect, 80 mph exit velocity from the left side, 86 mph exit velocity from the right side. Defensively arm played at 69 mph out of the crouch, long arm action from high ¾ slot. Stands up tall out of the crouch, sits high, pop times at 2.30-2.44. Runs the 60 at 8.22, laser timed. On the mound arm plays with length, tall and fall delivery. Fastball is mostly straight, showed fell for the zone, 72-73 mph, touched 75 mph. Curveball has gradual action, 60-65 mph. Throws straight change with control, fastball similar arm speed, 66-68 mph. Also flashed a knuckleball at 60-62 mph.
Dillen Rondorf, RHP/OF, West Bend East, 2017
6-foot-2, 180-pound two-way player, primary pitcher, lanky frame. Tall and fall delivery works slightly across body, solid direction. Arm works from a high ¾ slot, shorter action, comes out close to head. Fastball cuts, showed strike throwing ability, 77-78 mph, touched 79 mph. Curveball has 11/5 gradual action, 65-67 mph. Changeup is 64-69 mph, occasional cut, lacked command. Defensively showed arm strength from the outfield, 84 mph, long arm action. Played through the baseball, 7.54 runner in the 60. Hits from the right side, wide setup, leg lift stride, arm bar loading action. Path is long and level, 81 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Tyler Rouze, LHP, De Pere, 2016
6-foot, 170-pound left-handed pitcher, athletic shape. Good feel on the mound, minimal effort, smooth delivery. Arm action is loose, low ¾ slot. Repeats swing well, loose hands, line drive middle of the field approach. Short path, flat through contact, 76 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively played through the baseball, good outfield actions, hands worked well, easy athletic actions. Good arm, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, accurate arm, carried well, 78 mph from the outfield. On the mound showed feel for three pitches, short loose arm action, high ¾ slot, clean delivery. Fastball has run and sink good feel for the zone, 72-73 mph. Curveball has 1/7 shape, flashed good action, dropped for strikes, 61-62 mph. Changeup has sink, showed good control at the bottom of the zone, good feel, 67-69 mph.
Joey Scaffidi, OF/LHP, New Berlin Eisenhower, 2017
5-foot-9, 160-pound left-handed two-way player, athletic build with strength, compact frame. Projects more as a position player. 6.96 runner in the 60. Left-handed hitter, open stance, short stride back to even, good balance. Bat speed present, uses a short path, slight uppercut, pull side hitter with some lift. 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays through the baseball, raw athleticism, quick footwork that can improve mechanically. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot, showed some carry, 82 mph from the crowhop. On the mound arm played similarly, delivery worked online. Fastball has slight run, 75-76 mph. Throws two breaking balls, both showed distinct shapes separating them. Curveball is more 12/6, 63-66 mph. Slider has 2/8 shape, showed the ability to throw it more for strikes, 62-64 mph. Straight change sits 69-71 mph.
Jarret Scheelk, OF/ RHP, Green Bay Preble, 2017
6-foot-160-pound right-handed outfielder, athletic frame, slender build. Defensively showed arm strength for his age, 83 mph from the outfield, arm is loose and showed quickness, occasional carry. Feet worked well, showed athleticism, played through the baseball, step behind release, good actions. 7.15 runner in the 60. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, lower half worked. Gets rotational at times, sweeping bat path, slight uppercut, loose hands, looks to lift the baseball. Good bat speed, hands work, 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. On the mound works from a long over the top arm action, falls to first base side. Fastball showed cut action, 75-76 mph. 12/6 curveball had late sharp action to it, good control, spins it well for age, 63-65 mph. Changeup sat 70-71 with arm side action.
Joey Tadych, RHP/3B, Shawano, 2018
5-foot-8, 135-pound right-handed pitcher/third baseman, thin build. Showed above average infield actions for his age, plays through the baseball, showed some athleticism. Arm played loose, high ¾ slot, good arm strength for his age, 77 mph across the diamond, plenty of arm strength to stay on the left side of the infield. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, minimal loading action, short stride, static setup. 72 mph exit velocity from the tee. Ran a 7.41 in the 60, laser timed. On the mound uses a long arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball has feel, showed the ability to throw strikes at 74-75 mph. Slider showed control, 69-70 mph. Changeup also showed feel, controlled it at 69-71 mph.
Dryden Van Schoyck, OF/RHP, DeForest, 2016
6-foot-4, 200-pound two-way player, lanky frame, body projects well. Balanced stance, short leg lift stride, average balance through contact. Path is long, uppercut swing, gets around the baseball some. 82 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played at 78 mph from the outfield, long over the top slot. 7.11 runner in the 60. On the mound fastball has flashed slight cut, 75-77 mph, touched 78 mph. Throws curveball and slider, both ranged 63-66 mph, lacked separation. Changeup has fastball arm action, arm side run, 69-71 mph.

5-foot-11, 180-pound two way player, projects more as a position player, bat plays. Left-handed hitter, balanced stance, loads hands back, leg lift trigger, maintains balance. Good path, short to the baseball, throws hands at it, pull tendency, good bat speed. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm plays with length, 78 mph arm strength. Works to play through it, average actions, 7.41 runner in the 60. On the mound arm works similarly to that in the outfield. Fastball has slight sink, 73-75 mph. Curveball sat 58-64 mph. Changeup is 66-68 mph.
