The Future Prospects Showcase featured an impressive group of young prospects in the 2018 and 2019 graduating classes. Many showed advanced abilities for their age and will surely be high follow prospects as they mature.

Here’s a look at all of the prospects in attendance and their performance at the event.

Top Prospects (Listed Alphabetically)

Evan Beernsten, RHP/3B/OF, Bay Port, 2019
6-foot-1, 185-pound multi positional player with a strong frame. From the outfield he plays through balls athletically with a strong arm. Arm works from a high ¾ slot, 73 mph with carry. On the infield his arm works with same action, 73 mph with average carry. Ran an 8.14 60. At the plate he hits from a tall, open stance with heel lift load and launch technique. Swing is long and uphill with above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 82 mph off a tee. On the mound his delivery uses above average effort. Arm works short, high ¾ slot. Fastball was heavy with hard sink, 73-74 mph, consistent strikes. Throws a changeup, 61-65 mph with quality sink. Also throws a slip pitch, 60-65 mph.

Noah Berger, MIF/RHP, N/A, 2019
5-foot-4, 117-pound two way player. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, leg kick trigger, standard balance through contact. Hands start high, swing works from gap-to-gap with standard bat speed. Exit velocity was 63 mph off a tee. On the infield his arm works long, over the top slot, 60 mph. From the outfield he played through the ball well, same arm slot as infield, 61 mph with some carry. On the mound his delivery has quality direction, regular effort. Arm works from over the top with long, stiff action. Fastball was 57-59 mph, both 4-seam and 2-seam. 2-seam showed slight sinking action. Throws a changeup with fastball arm speed, 49-53 mph with sinking action.

Pierce Blohowiak, C/SS, Xavier, 2018
5-foot-8, 135-pound multi-positional player with advanced foot speed for his age. Ran a 7.44 60. At the plate he hits with a balanced stance and leg kick trigger mechanism, maintains balance through contact. Swing is uphill with standard bat speed. Showed above average bat speed, exit velocity was 77 mph off a tee. Behind the dish he showed strong receiving and catch and release skills. Gains ground on throws. Arm works long, over the top, 64 mph. Pop times were 2.26-2.37. On the infield showed solid actions and body control to go along with quality foot work. Arm works at 69 mph across the infield.

Zach Boehnlein, OF/LHP, Chilton, 2019
5-foot-3, 95-pound left handed two way player. At the plate he has an open stance, short stride, above average balance through contact. Has an uphill path with solid bat speed. Swing is smooth and repeats. Exit velocity was 63 mph off a tee. From the outfield he showed fluid feet, clean exchanges. Arm works loose from high ¾ slot, 61 mph. At first base showed firm hands, throws it 55 mph across the infield. Ran an 8.4 60. On the mound he uses a tall and fall delivery, regular effort, finishes towards the 3B side. Arm works long and loose from high ¾ slot. Fastball was 55-59 mph, straight, and consistent strikes. Also throws a changeup, 48-52 mph, erratic control.

Ryan Brouch, SS/RHP, Appleton West, 2018
5-foot-8, 140-pound two way athlete who showed well. At the plate he hits from a balance stance, smooth, backward loading action with short stride, solid balance. Repeats a line drive swing, short and level, drove the ball gap-to-gap with above average bat speed for his age. Exit velocity was 77 mph off a tee. On the infield he showed advanced footwork and natural actions, above average body control and quick, clean exchanges. Arm works loose, high ¾ slot, 68 mph with some carry. Ran an 8.21 60. On the mound his delivery has clean lines with regular effort. Arm works short, high ¾ slot. Fastball was 66-69 mph, flashing 70 mph once, with slight run, for consistent strikes. Throws a slider 58-61 mph, but with inconsistent actions.

Nate DeYoung, SS/RHP, Xavier, 2018
6-foot, 160-pound lanky, left handed hitting two-way player with projectable frame. At the plate he has a tall, open stance, maintains balance through contact. Incorporates the lower half well. Swing is short and uphill with above average bat speed, pull side approach. Exit velocity was 81 mph off a tee. On the infield he displayed solid hands, fluid footwork and clean exchanges. Arm works short and loose from high ¾ slot, 69 mph with carry and accuracy. Ran a 7.65 60. On the mound he uses a delivery with regular effort. Arm works from a high ¾ slot. Does a good job of throwing downhill with all pitches. Fastball 68-73 mph with running action. Showed command of the changeup, throwing it 63-68 mph with fastball arm speed and consistent sinking action. Curveball was 62-63 mph.

Ben Destiche, 3B/RHP, Kimberly, 2018
5-foot-8, 150-pound two-way player. Offensively, hits from a tall, open stance with quality balance through contact. Swing is simple and repeatable, standard bat speed for age. Exit velocity was 69 mph off a tee. On the infield he showed sound actions and some feel for his backhand. Arm works loose, ¾ slot, 67 mph across the infield. Ran an 8.22 60. On the mound he has a smooth delivery with regular effort, falls off toward first base on the finish. Arm works long and loose, ¾ slot. Showed command of his fastball, throwing it 67-69 mph with arm side run. Curveball has 11/5 shape, slurvey action, 56-58 mph. Changeup was firm, 61-66 mph with some arm side run.

Grant Emme, OF/MIF, Kaukauna, 2018
5-foot-7, 120-pound, athletic, multi-positional player, athletic lower half with advanced foot speed for his age. Posted the fastest 60 time at the event, running a 7.1 60. At the plate he hits from a wide stance, short stride. Swing is short and quick, hitting line drives from gap-to-gap with above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 72 mph off a tee. From the outfield he showed solid actions with athletic feet. Arm works short and stiff, high ¾ slot, 71 mph. On the infield showed the ability to play through balls athletically with solid hands. Arm works 67 mph across the diamond.

Ian Knuth, OF/C, Oconomowoc, 2019
5-foot-5, 127-pound multi-positional athlete, well defined frame with advanced strength for his age. At the plate hits from an even stance with short stride, maintains balance through contact. Short, fluid, line drive swing, easy rhythm, covers the entire plate. Showed ability to drive balls gap-to-gap with above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 74 mph off a tee. Behind the plate his arm works short, from over the top at 60 mph. Showed sound catch and release actions for his age. Pop times were 2.47-2.50. Tony Krueger, OF/RHP/C, Appleton North, 2018
5-foot-9, 139-pound athletic, left handed hitting, multi positional player. Offensively, hits with an open stance, leg kick trigger, maintains balance through the swing. Swing is uphill, showed pull side approach. Exit velocity off the tee was 72 mph. On the infield showed strong actions, fluid feet, soft hands, quick exchanges. Arm works short and loose, 71 mph with carry and accuracy. From the outfield his arm works athletically, 71 mph with carry. Throws 66 mph from the crouch with pop times in the 2.44-2.52 range. Dylan Krumrei, SS/RHP, Oshkosh North, 2019
6-foot, 135-pound lean, two way player. On the infield he showed standard actions and body control on the run. Arm works loose, high ¾ slot, 73 mph with carry. Ran a 7.71 60. At the plate he has a balanced stance, leg kick trigger, fair balance through contact. Swing is short with choppy rhythm, quick bat speed and pull side approach. Exit velocity was 75 mph off a tee.

Anthony Marquardt, LHP/OF, Oconto, 2018
5-foot-8, 152-pound left handed thrower, right handed hitter. On the mound he has a tall and fall delivery style with smooth rhythm and easy effort. Fastball was 65-67 mph with quality run and sink, consistent strikes. Showed feel for his curveball, throwing it with 11/5 shape, decent depth, rolling action, 51-53 mph. Changeup was 58-61 mph with sinking action. At the plate hits from a balanced setup, no stride, fair balance through contact. Swing has solid bat speed. Exit velocity was 70 mph off a tee. Zane Mencheski, C, Denmark, 2019
5-foot-7, 120-pound catcher. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance, short stride to contact, maintains balance through contact. Line drive swing with standard bat speed. Exit velocity was 63 mph off a tee. Behind the plate his arm works from a high ¾ slot, 55 mph. Pop times were in the 2.66-2.72 range. Ran an 8.25 60.

Evan Rice, RHP/3B/OF, Brillion, 2018
5-foot-9, 148-pound multi-positional player who showed well at the event. At the plate, hits with an open stance, smooth/backward loading action, short stride, strong balance through contact. Carried himself with easy confidence in the box. Has a short, line drive swing with quality extension. Exit velocity was 65 mph off a tee. On the infield has soft hands, solid actions. Arm works from over the top at 72 mph with carry. From the outfield arm works at 75 mph with carry. Ran a 7.83 60. On the mound showed three pitch feel. Has tall and fall delivery with smooth rhythm, clean lines and athletic finish. Arm works long and loose from ¾ slot. Threw his fastball for strikes, 74-76 mph with sink. Has an advanced curveball for his age, 11/5 shape with late bite, 63-64 mph for strikes. Changeup was in the zone, 68-71 mph with flashes of high grade sinking action.

Carter Robinson, RHP/INF, Notre Dame, 2019
5-foot-9, 135-pound two way player. On the mound he has a standard delivery. Arm works short, high ¾ slot. Fastball was 67-68 mph with quality arm side run when thrown down in the zone, consistent strikes. Showed feel for a changeup, throwing it consistently for strikes with fastball arm speed, 59-61 mph with sink. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance, heel lift load and launch sequence, solid balance through contact. Hands work in the swing, standard bat speed, drove the ball gap-to-gap. Colten Schid, SS/OF/RHP, Fox Valley Lutheran, 2018
5-foot-6, 125-pound multi-positional player. On the infield showed athletic footwork, soft hands, natural movements. Arm works short, loose, athletic, 63 mph across the infield. From the outfield he showed some quick twitch movements and sound footwork. Arm worked at 73 mph from the outfield. Ran a 7.26 60. Offensively, hits from tall, open stance with a toe tap load launch sequence, solid balance. Showed a quick bat to go along with a fluid, line drive swing. Drove balls gap-to-gap. Exit velocity was 73 mph. On the mound he uses a drop and drive delivery with clean lines, regular effort. Arm works short and quick, high ¾ slot. Fastball was straight, consistent strikes, 69-71 mph. Showed advanced feel for a 12/6 curveball, throwing it 61-62 mph with depth and solid action, consistent strikes. Changeup was 62-64 mph and straight.

Taylor Shallue, 1B, De Pere, 2018
5-foot-11, 182-pound first baseman with a strong frame. Offensively, hits from a balanced setup, slight crouch, short stride, partial use of the lower half, maintains solid balance through contact. Has a powerful swing with pull side approach, above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 75 mph off a tee. Defensively he showed solid hands. Arm works from a high ¾ slot, 66 mph. ran a 7.65 60.

Paul Stefiuk, RHP/1B/OF, Preble, 2018
6-foot-1, 200-pound two-way player with long legs. On the mound he has a tall and fall delivery with smooth rhythm, level shoulders, solid direction, regular effort. Arm works quick and loose from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was 76-78 mph with flashes of quality arm side run and sinking action. Curveball was 55-59 mph with erractic shape and action. Changeup was 65-68 mph. At the plate hits from a balanced stance and heel lift load and launch sequence. Swing is quick and powerful with pull side approach. Exit velocity was 80 mph off a tee. 5-foot-5, 117-pound athletic, two-way player with some projectability. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance, no stride, fair balance through contact. Showed a strong approach at the plate, short swing with above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 70 mph off a tee. Defensively, he fields balls with infield actions.
