GPA Games: Statistical Analysis

The GPA Games took place on Sunday, August 13 at Wheaton College's Lee Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, IL. Over 60 prospects from all over the Midwest participated in a pro-style workout and simulated games in front of the PBR Scouting Staff. Today, we begin the event analysis with a stats story.

Nicolas Palermo (St. Ignatius (IL)), Andrew Hill (Plainfield East (IL)), and Nick Lamoso (Waubonsie Valley (IL)) were the lone prospects to break the 7.00 second mark; Palermo lead the way with a 6.83 60.
AJ Golembiewski (Marian Central Catholic (IL)) posted the top fastball of the event at 87 mph. A slew of other arms performed well, including: Evan Warrington (Sacred Heart-Griffin (IL)) and Austin Selz (Eau Claire Memorial (WI)) who came in at 86.
Three prospects broke the 90 mph exit velocity mark, with Jonathon Wolf (Portage Nothern (IN)) topping the charts at 91 mph. Cameron Zimmerman (West Aurora (IL)) and Benjamin Jaynes (Waubonsie Valley (IL)) both recorded 90 mph.
Nolan Tucker (Hanover Central (IN)) and Nick Skrabis (Sandburg (IL)) took home the corwn for top infield velocity, clocked at 80 mph across the diamond.
Mikey Strong (St. Thomas Aquinas (KS)) walked away from the event proving he has some juice in his arm, blowing away the rest of the competition at 88 mph from the outfield. Jacob Arndt (Oconomowoc (WI)) was the runner-up at 83 mph.
Chris Karasinski (Glenbrook North (IL)) recored the top pop time of the event at 2.05. Peyton Tracy (Taylor (IN)) was the most consistent of the catchers, with his pop times varying by the slim margin of 0.05 seconds.
Mikey Strong (St. Thomas Aquinas (KS)) translted his big arm from the outfield to behind the plate, clocking in at 78 mph from the crouch. Sean Blanchard (Plainfield East (IL)) followed Strong up with 76 mph.
