Hitters Spring League Roundup: April 12

In a weather shortened weekend the Hitters Spring League was able to get three games off before the skies opened. Here’s a look at all the completed action.

Maroon 7, Purple 0

Illinois commit Cyrillo Watson (South Milwaukee, 2016) was stellar on the mound, striking out nine in five innings of work. Watson scattered two hits while walking two without allowing a run. Ben DeGracie (South Milwaukee, 2016) and Michigan commit Dominic Clementi (Arrowhead, 2016) both had two hits for Maroon, each hitting a double and collecting an RBI. Cyrillo Watson also added two RBI on a triple.

Black 4, Red 3

In a tight matchup Black edged Red as their four run second inning held up. Jonathan Stiever (Cedarburg, 2015)and Gabe Farrowe each chipped in with an RBI for Black. Jayson Walczak-Zelem (Oak Creek, 2017) led the Red offense with a 2-for-3 day and two runs scored. Jake Fisher (Whitefish Bay, 2016) collected the win the Black working four innings scattering four hits and one earned run.

Navy 5, Gold 2

Kurtis Sippy (Oak Creek, 2016) got the complete game victory in the shortened five inning contest. Sippy allowed two runs on two hits, striking out four. Zachary Skorik, Michael Sippy and Bryce Brogni all chipped in on the Navy offense with a hit and an RBI each.
