Weather permitted the Hitters Spring League to get on the fields this weekend. Here are a few scouting notes from what we saw over the weekend.

+ Nate Hammel (Muskego, 2013) INF, 5-foot-8, 180-pounds, smaller frame, sturdy build. Shows a strong arm across the diamond. Can play on the run, some athletic arm action. Above average hands, tendency for a longer release, glove pat on transfer. Occasional hard contact.

+ Nicholas Sotiros (West Allis Hale, 2013) LHP, 6-foot-2, 200-pounds. Over the top arm slot, fastball shows cut action 74-75 mph complimented by changeup with excellent sink at 68 mph. Cut fastball has the ability to get left handed hitters out at the next level.

+ Taylor Grimm (Cedarburg, 2014) C/3B, 6-foot, 195-pounds. Continues to show barrel awareness. Squares the ball up with authority on a consistent basis. Shows a knack for the opposite field gap. Hitter to follow. Needs to gain more ground directionally when coming out of the crouch, feet shows signs of athleticism but lack quickness. Arm works, needs to stay on line. 2.30 pop time.

+Sam Michalski (West Allis Hale, 2014) LHP, 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. High ¾ arm slot, throws slightly across his body. Lacked control to right handed hitters, excellent command to left handed hitters. Looked more comfortable facing left handed hitters. Fastball at 75-78 mph.

+Jordan Richardson (Menomonee Falls, 2014) C/3B 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. Shows athletic actions at third base. Moves well laterally, works well to his glove side at third base. Playable arm, shows athleticism, above average release.

+ Riley Richarz (Brookfield Central, 2014) INF, 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. Athletic middle infielder, can play on the move, releases on the run, athletic arm action. Shows athletic feet, foot speed present, 4.25 runner down the line. Showed barrel awareness making consistent contact.

+ Nate Anderson (Mukwonago, 2015) LHP, 6-foot, 150-pounds. Long limbed lefty, slender build, shows projection. ¾ arm slot, long arm, loose arm, athletic finish. Fastball shows excellent arm side run, pitched well inside to right handed hitters, showed the ability to bring his fastball back over the inside corner to a right handed hitter. Fastball sits at 71-73, pitches better to his glove side. Breaking ball needs refinement.

+ Dominic Clementi (Arrowhead, 2016) OF, 6-foot, 165-pounds. Left handed hitting outfielder. Has a knack for the barrel. Consistently hard contact, makes his best contact to the opposite field, stays through the baseball. Freshman proving he can hit against older pitching. Above average foot speed. High follow. No. 5 prospect in 2016 class.
