IL/WI Underclass Games: Top Overall Prospects

By: Illinois Scouting Staff

On Tuesday, July 20, the PBR Illinois staff hosted the Underclass Games at Triton College in River Grove. The invite-only event featured some of the top players from Illinois and Wisconsin in the Class of 2024. A number of high-level follows emerged at the event and many will be names to become familiar with as they enter their sophomore year of high school.

Our staff published several pieces shortly after the event’s conclusion and you can find those by clicking HERE.

Earlier last week we started rolling our position-by-position scouting reports from this event, starting with the catchers, then outfielders and finishing up with a strong infield group. We wrapped things up on the mound, rolling out all of our pitcher reports yesterday afternoon.

Today we’ll conclude this event by ranking the top overall prospects that attended, headlined by RHP Luke Teschke (Monticello) and RHP Malachi Paplanus (Huntley). Both are ranked inside the state’s top-15 prospects for the 2024 class and remain high uncommitted follows in the Midwest on the mound.

The top position player on this overall ranking is Wisconsin 1B Aren Robinson (Brookfield Central). He brings an ultra-physical 6-foot-4, 200-pound presence into the batter’s box with plenty of upside in multiple offensive facets.

Read below for a complete ranking of the top-10 players that attended this summer’s invite-only event.
