Continuing our coverage of the Milwuakee Preseason ID, we move on to our outfield analysis. The Peterson brothers of Wilmot stood out with their left-handed bats taking two of the top three spots, split by the projectable athleticism of Steve Jamroziak, who committed to Oklahoms shortly after the event.

Here’s a look at the top outfield prospects.  

Top Outfield Prospects

1. Gunner Peterson, OF/RHP, Wilmot, 2018
Illinois State commit. Currently ranked No. 10 in the WI class of 2018. Added more strength to his frame this winter now 6-foot-1, 180-pound left-handed hitting OF/RHP. At the plate hits from a balanced setup, hands load up with a leg lift stride and excellent balance. Short, uphill swing path with fluid rhythm and explosive bat speed. Showed strength thru contact with 96 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 6.92. Defensively has a long arm action from an over the top slot. Throws showed carry throwing 88 mph from the outfield. Athletic defender with fluid footwork and a clean exchange while playing thru the baseball. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Drop and drive delivery with a high front side. Works in line with home plate with a square landing and some rhythm. Fastball has downhill tilt at 83-84 topping out at 86 mph for strikes down in the zone. Curveball has 12-6 shape with depth at 68-71 mph. Changeup was firm with occasional sinking action at 74-77 mph.

2. Steve Jamroziak, OF/RHP, Muskego, 2019
Committed to Oklahoma shortly following the event. Currently ranked No. 6 in the Wisconsin Class of 2019. 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with a lanky, athletic frame. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride and good balance. Pull hitter with a short level swing path and fluid rhythm. Showed strength thru contact with 91 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.10. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throw with carry throwing 88 mph from the outfield. Plays thru the ball with quick, fluid footwork. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, quick arm action. Tal and fall delivery with square landing and some rhythm. Fastball sat 76-69 topping out at 81 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with short breaking action at 62-66 mph for strikes. Changeup has running action at 69-70 mph thrown with fastball arm speed.

3. Tanner Peterson, OF/RHP, Wilmot, 2019
Illinois State commit. 6-foot-1, 165-pound left-handed hitting OF/RHP with a lanky, athletic frame. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride and good balance. Explosive lower half with a fast bat. Line drive gap to gap hitter with fluid rhythm. Showed strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.18. Defensively has a loose arm action from an over the top slot. Aggressive routes in the outfield while playing thru the ball with fluid footwork and soft hands. Throws showed carry at 85 mph. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing. Fastball sat 74-75 mph. Curveball has 10-4 shape with sharp breaking action at 59-61 mph. Changeup has cutting action at 62-65 mph.

4. Alexander Huissen, OF, Indian Trail, 2019
6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with a lanky, projectable frame. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and good balance. Line drive hitter with fluid rhythm and a short, level swing path. Made consistent hard contact during batting practice. Showed strength thru contact with 93 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 6.98. Defensively has a long arm action from an over the top slot. Throws showed carry from the outfield throwing 86 mph. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange.

5. Jordan Bailey, OF, Janesville Parker, 2018
Bradley commit. 6-foot, 185-pound left-handed hitting outfielder with an athletic frame. At the plate hits from an open setup with a smooth load and good balance. Line drive hitter works gap to gap with a short, uphill swing path with a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.16. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange and fluid footwork. Throws showed carry throwing 88 mph from the outfield.

6. Michael Lepow, OF, Racine Case, 2018
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with present strength. Plus runner in the 60 running a 6.72. At the plate hits from a balanced, spread out setup with a short heel lift stride and good balance. Line drive hitter with fluid rhythm and a short, level swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 88 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively ha a short arm action from an over the top slot. Accurate throws with carry throwing 88 mph from the outfield. Athletic actions, plays thru the ball with quick footwork.

7. Drew Leszczynski, OF/RHP, Brookfield Central, 2019
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting OF/RHP. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Accurate throws with carry throwing 91 mph from the outfield. Plays thru the ball with athletic actions and fluid footwork. At the plate hits from a balanced setup, hands preset back with a short leg lift stride. Short, uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 86 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.09. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Square landing with some rhythm. Fastball has heavy sinking action at 84-86 topping out at 87 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape with gradual action at 65-69 mph.

8. Trace Ferreira, OF/RHP, New Berlin West, 2019
5-foot-10, 180-pound right-handed hitting OF/RHP with a strong frame. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a smooth load and short leg lift stride. Pull hitter with fluid rhythm and a fat bat. Showed strength thru contact with 90 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.31. Defensively has a long, loose arm action from an over the top slot. Plays thru the ball with fluid footwork and soft hands. Throws showed carry from the outfield at 87 mph. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Fastball sat 77-81 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with short breaking action at 63-67 mph. Changeup has slight running action at 69-73 mph.

9. Gunnar Doyle, OF, Oak Creek, 2020
5-foot-11, 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder with a strong frame. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride and good balance. Fluid rhythm  with a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 91 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.13. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Plays thru the ball with average hands. Threw 80 mph from the outfield.

10. Scott Savage, OF, Hartford Union, 2019
5-foot-11, 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with a strong frame. At the plate hits from an open setup with an wrap and arm bar load. Leg kick stride with fair balance. Pull, power approach with an uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 92 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.44. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ slot. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange and average hands. Threw 83 mph from the outfield.

Luke Blaha, OF, Mukwonago, 2019
6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with a strong frame. At the plate hits from a balanced, spread out setup. Short heel lift stride with good balance. Gap to gap hitter with a short path and fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.61. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Accurate throws from the outfield at 81 mph.

Evan Callow, OF, Indian Trail, 2018
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder with a strong frame. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride. Short, level swing path with a  fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.10. Defensively has a stiff arm action from an over the top slot. Showed raw arm strength throwing 83 mph from the outfield.

Hunter Clark, RHP/OF, Seymour, 2019
5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitting RHP/OF. Offensively hits from a balanced, slightly open setup, closes off on stride. 76 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.28. Defensively threw 78 mph from the outfield. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, stiff arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing and cross fire action. Two pitch mix. Fastball sat 67-70 mph. Changeup has cutting action at 61-65 mph.

Marcus Cline, SS/OF/RHP, Fall Creek, 2019
5-foot-10, 135-pound left-handed hitting utility player. Offensively hits from a spread out, slightly open setup. Short leg lift stride with average balance. Line drive hitter works the middle of the field with fluid rhythm and looseness in the hands. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.23. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Plays thru the ball with fluid footwork. Threw 81 mph across the infield. Also took drills in the outfield throwing 83 mph. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a long, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with some effort. Fastball has slight sinking action at 72-74 topping out at 76 mph. Curveball has 10-4 shape with depth at 61-64 mph from a slightly lower slot. Changeup has cutting action at 67-69 mph.

Devin Fish, RHP/OF, Eisenhower, 2018
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitting RHP/OF. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing and some effort. Fastball sat 82 topping out at 83 mph. Sinker has heavy sinking action at 75-79 mph. Changeup sat 72-76 mph. Curveball has short breaking action at 74-75 mph. Defensively showed raw arm strength from the outfield throwing 90 mph. Arm action in long from a ¾ arm angle. Long exchange with average hands. At the plate hits from an open setup with a heel lift stride, stays open. Line drive, pull hitter with a short, uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 90 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.53.

Sam Garvoille, OF, Janesville Parker, 2018
6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. At the plate hits from a tall setup with a short leg lift stride and average balance. Short, uphill swing path. 78 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.18. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm angle. Hesitant actions with average hands. Showed off raw arm strength from the outfield throwing 84 mph, would be interesting to see how arm plays on the mound.

Jack Heiring, LHP/OF, Christian Life, 2020
6-foot-2, 140-pound right-handed hitting left-handed throwing LHP/OF. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing. Fastball sat 68-71 mph. Curveball has 2-8 shape at 57-61 mph. Also threw a two seamer with slight running action at 67-70 mph. At the plate hits from a slightly closed setup with a short stride and average balance. Uphill swing path with average bat speed. 74 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.42. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Plays thru the ball with a crow hop. Threw 77 mph from the outfield.

Tanner Hurley, OF, Bradford, 2019
5-foot-9, 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. At the plate hits from an open setup with a long stride and average balance. Uphill swing path. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.28. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throws from the outfield at 82 mph. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange and fluid footwork.

Sebastian Kloss, RHP/OF, Whitnall, 2020
5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting RP/OF. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing. Fastball sat 78-80 mph. Curveball is a plus offering with 11-5 shape and sharp breaking action at 64-68 mph. Changeup sat 65-68 mph. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and good balance. Line drive hitter with fluid rhythm and a fast bat. 77 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.55. Defensively has a short, loose arm action from an over the top slot. Plays thru the ball, threw 81 mph from the outfield.

Tommy Lamb, LHP/OF, Grafton, 2020
5-foot-10, 140-pound lanky left-handed hitting LHP/OF. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a high front side and easy effort. Works in line with home plate with a square landing, smooth rhythm, and an athletic finish. Good balance throughout delivery. Three pitch feel on the mound. Fastball sat 80-81 topping out at 82 mph. Curveball has 1-7 shape at 64-66 mph. Showed feel for his changeup at 71-73 mph for strikes. One of the top arms in the Wisconsin 2020 Class. Defensively arm plays well in the outfield, easy effort while playing thru the ball. Accurate throws with carry throwing 85 mph. At the plate hits from a balanced, open setup with a leg lift stride back to even. Opposite field line drive hitter. 81 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.47.

Luke Lamont, RHP/OF, Whitefish Bay, 2018
5-foot-11, 155-pound right-handed hitting RHP/OF. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a long arm action. Drop and drive delivery with a high front side. Works in line with home plate with a square landing. Fastball sat 78-79 topping out at 80 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with sharp, late breaking action, maintains arm speed on breaking ball. Changeup blends with fastball sat 77-78 mph. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with an arm bar load to backside. Short leg lift stride with average balance.
