No. 1 Indian Trail and No. 4 Sun Prairie Split Doubleheader

SUN PRAIRIE, WI – On a day better suited for a playoff game at Lambeau Field with gusting winds, temps in the low 40s, and the occasional snow No. 1 Indian Trail played a doubleheader with No. 4 Sun Prairie. The two split the doubleheader with Sun Prairie taking the first game 7-2 and Indian Trail winning the second 17-6.
Game One: No. 4 Sun Prairie 7 No. 1 Indian Trail 2
Ben Hauser got the start for Sun Prairie in the opener going 5.2 innings to pick up the win. Hauser allowed four hits and five walks while striking out three. In the sixth inning he delivered a bases loaded two run double to give the Cardinals a 6-2 lead.
Justus Benson was the offensive star for the Cardinals going 3-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Kasey Bass went a perfect 3-3 with two RBIs, driving in Benson twice.
Indian Trail picked up a run in the first when Gavin Lux singled to lead off the game and came around to score on a single by Dylan Shore.
Game Two: No. 1 Indian Trail 17 No. 4 Sun Prairie 6
In game two the bats woke up for Indian Trail as the scored 17 times highlighted by a grand slam from Nick Elsen and a homer from Gavin Lux.
Ryan Hoerter worked four innings to earn the victory striking out eight.
No. 1 Indian Trail moves to 15-2 on the season and returns to action Tuesday at home against Racine Case. No. 4 Sun Prairie moves to 17-3 and returns to action Tuesday at home against No. 3 Janesville Craig
