Quick Hits: Senior Games - Mississippi Valley

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Supervisor - Wisconsin/Illinois

The PBR Senior Games at Copeland Park finished yesterday with several of the state’s top uncommitted prospects showing well. Over the coming weeks we will break down the event with complete analysis including top statistical performers. But first, here’s a quick look at some highlights from the day’s event.

+ RHP Justin Reinkall (Superior) came out hot in his first inning of action, striking out two. One strikeout came way of a sharp 75-77 mph slider that got consistent swing and misses throughout his outing.

+ Bryce Wesling (New Berlin Eisenhower) again looked good on the mound. The long lanky southpaw struk out two in one inning while heavily showcasing his big sweeping slider with swing and miss stuff.

+ SS/RHP Luke Kundinger (Waukesha West) had a big day showing off his two-way abilities with slick glove work up the middle at shortstop and a strong arm. Kundinger had a pair of singles at the plate as well. On the mound he struck out the side with a sharp curveball that showed he had excellent feel and ran his fastball up to 82 mph.

+ Logan Rezash (Greendale) was one of the top catchers in attendance at the Senior Games - Milwaukee and showed it again at Copeland Park. He showed a strong defensive prowess behind the plate along with leadership and energetic qualities.

+ Dyan Fluegel (Oak Creek) squared up baseballs with gap to gap intent in BP and translated it to game play with a leadoff double.

+ Outfielder Jim Callahan (Ashwaubenon) drove in a run with a double in game play.

+ Holmen RHP Hunter DeSmet punched out three in two innings of work with a fastball sitting 80-81 mph and feel for a curveball and changeup.

+ LHP Joshua Hunt (Waukesha West) coming off a non-throwing arm wrist injury didn’t miss a beat on the mound. Hunt struck out four in two innings, three of which came looking.

+ Eli Foth is a 6-foot-4, 180-pound RHP out of Kettle Moraine HS who struck out four in two innings.
