Recruiting Roudup: Who's Heading Where?

By Matt Huck
Area Scout

Every Friday National Scouting Supervisor Nathan Rode provides a roundup of insider recruiting information and commitments throughout the PBR coverage area: The Buzz. Click Here to take a look at this week’s National Buzz. With that in mind, let’s take an in depth look at the Wisconsin prospects who have committed to colleges, with detailed scouting information.

Ben Kramer, C, Bradford, 2015
Knox College

Ben Kramer8/9/14 - 6-foot, 200-pound catcher. Offensively hits from the right side, tall narrow setup, toe tap stride. Longer path, 70 mph exit velocity from the tee. Had a single through the left side in game action. Defensively recorded pop times at 2.25-2.37, 67 mph arm strength from the crouch, short arm action, high ¾ slot.

Jeff Holtz, C, Arrowhead, 2018
Indiana University
Holtz is already the third 2018 to make a college commitment in Wisconsin. Holtz is a long lanky catcher who has an extremely high ceiling. Holtz was put on our radar last summer when he stood out at the Junior Future Games as one of the top prospects in attendance. Holtz again showed well this winter at college camps and will be in attendance March 15 at our Madison Preseason I.D. Showcase.
