Southern Wisconsin Open: Preview, Roster, Itinerary

By Steve Nielsen

The Southern Wisconsin Open is just around the corner now just days away on Saturday, October 24 at STiKS Academy in Oconomowoc, WI (CLICK HERE to register). Last year this event gave us our first look at West Bend West’s Anthony Schlass who was the first 2017 to make a college commitment (Oklahoma) in the state, as well as another big left-handed bat in the 2018 class, Alex Binelas (Oak Creek, Louisville). It also gave insight into the path of two of the state’s top arms – 2016 RHP Alec Marsh (Reagan College Prep, Arizona State) and 2017 LHP Augie Mihlbauer (Mukwonago, TCU). Both showed their first glimpses of that special arm strength they both now possess.

This year’s event hopes to bring much of the same. Some of the higher profile prospects in attendance include SS Alex Rodriguez (Cudahy, 2017), LHP James Grassl (Waukesha West, 2017), RHP Nathan Hefle (Germantown, 2017) and RHP Nick Cramer (Janesville Craig, 2017), all of which are currently top 50 prospects in the state.
