Stock Report: 2014 Jesse Turner

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Today’s stock report is on Class of 2014 graduate Jesse Turner. Turner is a two-way player hailing from Lake Country Lutheran HS where he plays third base and pitches.

Turner posted great numbers in 2012 leading the Lightning to a 16-9 record and a third place finish in the Midwest Classic North Conference. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound junior posted a 3-2 record on the mound with a 2.93 ERA and 27 strikeouts over 22 innings pitched.Turner operates from a 3/4 arm slot showing a quick arm that works well. He also features a curveball and changeup to round out his arsenal.

Offensively, Turner hit .324 as a sophomore with 20 RBI and 6 doubles. This season Coach Bahr and the Lightning lineup will be looking to fill the void left by graduated senior Brady Anderson who hit a whopping .513 in 2012. Turner could be the guy to fill that gap.

As Coach Bahr and the Lightning prepare for 2013 there is a high expectation for Turner and the rest of his teammates. The Lightning will be returning nearly all of their pitching from last season, including Turner, which should make for a successful season for Lake Country Lutheran.
