Stock Report: 2014 OF Jeren Kendall

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Jeren Kendall is quite possibly one of the best, if not the best, Class of 2014 player in Wisconsin. To say at an early age that Kendall was going to be one of the premier athletes in the state would not be far-fetched.

Kendall is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound left-handed hitting outfielder from Holmen HS. Kendall has an advanced approach at the plate, hitting from a tall, slightly open stance. He is extremely quiet at the plate showing plus balance throughout his swing; his bat path is highly advanced showing a short quick path that stays inside the baseball well. Kendall also displays solid hand-eye that allows him to consistently find the barrel. His swing is easily repeatable and produces consistent line drives to the middle of the field.

Kendall comes from great bloodlines, as his dad Jeremy was a former Wisconsin high school standout who went on to play in the Philadelphia Phillies organization for 5 years. When watching Jeren take his hacks in the cage it became quickly apparent that he grew up with a bat in his hands.

Jeren is coming off a second team All-Conference selection season, where he led Holmen HS in triples and stolen bases, all of this as a sophomore.

Additionally, he has advanced speed and solid arm strength, all of which should make Kendall the most highly sought after prospect in Wisconsin's 2014 class.
