Stock Report: 2015 MIF Noah Jensen

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director – Illinois/Wisconsin

Noah Jensen (Tremper) has grabbed the attention of the PBR scouting staff and in the last update of the 2015 rankings, Jensen fell in at No. 14 in Wisconsin and No. 281 overall.

Jensen is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound middle infielder with an athletic build. He has an advanced defensive prowess with excellent actions, soft hands and plays through the ball well. Jensen also has quick footwork and is a 7.01 runner. His exchange is clean and features excellent body control with the ability to play well on the move. His arm plays well across the diamond, showing carry at 81 mph with a loose athletic arm action.Noah Jensen

Offensively Jensen hits from an open stance with short toe tap stride. He hits with a balanced approach and showed bat speed with an 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. His swing produced whip through contact on a short path. He is a line drive hitter with an occasional pull tendency.

Jensen has just begun his search for schools at the next level and said,

“I’m looking for a college that will allow me to get better as a baseball player and also allow me to play baseball at a high level. I’d really like to play baseball at a Division 1 school but I know that is not an easy thing to accomplish so ultimately I’d like a program that has a good coaching staff, good facilities and one that will allow me to play. “

Jensen most recently impressed again at the Hitters Top Prospect Camp where his swing had loose hands and showed whip through the zone. He was also reported as throwing 80 mph across the infield and ran a 4.13 home to first.

Jensen is certainly in the mix of high level prospects in Wisconsin’s 2015 class. Things should start to heat up more this year for the Tremper middle infielder.
