Turchin is a physically advanced with plus strength for his age. His strong athletic build makes him one of the top prospects in the Class of 2015. Turchin shows excellent athleticism with plus arm strength for his age; he projects as an elite level outfielder. Defensively he shows advanced athletic actions with a quick clean exchange, his footwork is fluid and athletic with aggressive actions to the baseball. Turchin’s arm action works well showing well above average arm strength for his age. We have recorded Turchin at 89 mph from the outfield.
Offensively he hits from a slightly open stance using a smooth load and short stride approach. His aggressive swing and above average hands makes him a highly sought after commodity at the plate. His bat path is also short and level showing extension through contact. Turchin is a gap to gap style hitter showing some power at an early age. He also displays excellent rhythm and balance throughout his swing.
Turchin projects as a high level prospect and will certainly get plenty of attention in the Midwest. His physicality and arm strength have the ability to play right now at the next level, only time will tell to see how much better Turchin can get and what the recruiting scene will bring his way.
