Then & Now: Connor Prielipp, Alabama

THEN FEBRUARY 28, 2016: Six-foot, 155-pound left-handed hitting LHP/1B with a young look. On the mound works form a high three-quarter arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing. Slide step form the stretch. Fastball sat 78-79 topping out at 80 mph. Curveball showed 1-7 shape at 68-69 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup that showed some downer and sinking action at 73-74 mph. At the plate Prielipp hits from an open stance with a hand drop load and long stride. Choppy rhythm with a long, level path. 73 mph exit velocity form a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.12. Defensively, has a short arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Threw 71 mph across the infield.

 

NOW JUNE 17, 2022 MLB DRAFT COMBINE: Now standing 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Prielipp sat 94-95 with his fastball and spun a 2900-3000+ breaker 85-87. Also showed heavy arm side run on a 86-87 CH during his 20 pitch bullpen.
