Top-10 Player Profiles of 2018: No. 3 Connor Prielipp

When our staff updated the Class of 2019 Rankings for the first time this year, back in April, Tomah’s Connor Prielipp was perched in the No. 4 spot – his third straight update as the No. 4-ranked prospect. But, over the spring and into the summer, Prielipp’s stuff ticked up and the makings of a devastating breaking ball had finally materialized. We saw this, first hand, at the Badger State Battle where Prielipp showcased a fastball that zipped through the zone in the upper 80s and even touched 90 mph throughout his start. His curveball is what separates him from the rest of this class, at the moment.

To the naked eye, it has hard, late, sharp action on a 1/7 plane and it has made the southpaw one of the hardest assignment for hitters in 2018. At Area Codes, Prielipp made waves on the national stage where that aforementioned curve recorded some off-the-charts spin rates.

Prielipp’s commitment to Alabama in mid-August was the cherry on top of a near-flawless 2018. His profile below is evidence of that. Check out our reports on Wisconsin’s top-ranked senior prospect and how it’s evolved over the last two-plus years.

NO. 3: CONNOR PRIELIPP

Swing and miss curveball, 78-82 mph, plus action, late hard bite, 1/7 shape, showed ability to expand the zone and throw for strikes.
