Today we will continue our ‘End of the Year’ countdown, highlighting the most viewed player profiles in Wisconsin from this year. We’ll be working our way to the top spot, starting with No. 10 and releasing the most viewed name on New Year’s Eve.

Coming in at No. 5 on our most viewed profiles of 2022 is RHP/3B Mitchell Voit (Whitefish Bay, 2022; Michigan). To start his productive year, Voit was in attendance at one of our most prestigious events on the calendar, the Super 60, which is where some of the country's top talent convenes in McCook, Ill., to perform in front of a number of pro-scouts. There Voit showcased his two-way talents as he took a clean round of BP, in which he registered a max EV of 100.1 mph and also showed off his arm strength during the infield portion when he topped at 97 mph on his throws across the diamond, which tied the highest in Super 60 history. He followed this up with an equally impressive ‘pen, in which he topped at 91.7 mph and also showed feel for each of his secondaries. This performance during his time in McCook was only a preview of what was going to come from him during the spring.

For his talented Whitefish Bay squad, a team that did not leave the top-spot of our Power 25 rankings until the final update, Voit was looked to on both sides of the ball all season long and finished the year with some ridiculous numbers. At the plate he tallied a .566 batting average, an OPS of 1.461 which was helped by his 11 doubles, two triples and five home runs. On the mound he was equally impressive, logging 87 strikeouts across his 53.2 innings and pitched to an ERA of just 0.54. After this absolutely dominant WIAA season, the awards started rolling in for Voit. He earned multiple Wisconsin Player of the Year honors, including our PBR Wisconsin POTY award, and put the finishing touches on one of the best WIAA seasons our staff has seen in quite some time.

Now off at Michigan, Voit will look to contribute right away as a freshman and already showed what he can provide at the next-level when he smacked a grand slam in Michigan’s fall matchup with Xavier. With only one semester under his belt, it seems that Voit has already made his presence felt at the collegiate-level and he is certainly someone our staff is excited to continue to follow throughout the rest of his career.
