Ben RortvedtCatcher Ben Rortvedt’s (Verona Area) profile saw over 3,750 clicks this year and his success on the diamond was a big reason why. Rortvedt had an outstanding year and launched himself into the category of one of the elite 2016 catchers in our coverage area.

Rortvedt made his presence felt at several national events this year including the Area Code games and Jupiter. For most of the year he was one of the more highly coveted receivers on the market until late July when he made his commitment to Arkansas.

Offensively hits from the left side, balanced setup, short stride, arm bar load. Bat path produces advanced bat speed, 92 mph exit velocity from the tee. Line drive gap to gap type hitter with gap power. Athletic hitter with loose hands, makes consistent hard contact. Rortvedt is one of the most highly sought after catchers in the 2016 class.
