Uncommitted Senior Spotlight: INF Riley Zirbel

By Andy Sroka
Staff Writer, Associate Scout

Here at the start of the New Year, we’re going to be spending some time highlighting the best of the state’s uncommitted senior class.

Fellow uncommitted seniors in Wisconsin are also welcome to register for Sunday's showcase in the Chicagoland area, the Unsigned Senior Showcase. Staffs from both states will be in attendance, too.

Next up in our series is Lake Mills middle infielder Riley Zirbel, a twitchy athlete who ran a 6.71 at our summer Milwaukee event. While speed might be his most obvious next-level tool, Zirbel will be able to bring a lot more to the table than his work on the basepaths. His agility helps him range well laterally on defense and he also swings a fast right-handed bat, which helps him create more jump from the barrel than his 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame might initially suggest. Check out the latest on one of the top remaining unsigned infielders in the state.
