Unsigned Senior Spotlight: SS/RHP Brett Krause

By Steve Nielsen

Today’s Player Spotlight is on unsigned senior Brett Krause. Krause is a two-way player hailing from Menomonee Falls HS in Wisconsin. He has been a staple in the Indians lineup since his freshman year. After collecting multiple awards including 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team Summer All-State, and 1st Team All-Suburban, Krause is poised to lead the Indians to another Greater Metro Conference title.

Krause is a physical 6-foot-3, 185-pound, infielder and right-handed pitcher. Krause’s athleticism shows well on the field, as the three sport athlete also plays football and runs track for the Indians. As the starting quarterback for his football team his arm translates well to the baseball field as he showcases a good arm across the diamond as well as on the mound. His athletic frame gives him the ability to show good range on the infield. Krause is also an above average runner.

Offensively, Krause is one of the better hitters in the state. He shows good hands and an athletic approach at the plate. In 2012, Krause led his team in RBI with 42 and extra base hits with 11.

Krause and the Indians should be the favorite again to win the Greater Metro Conference title.
