APPLETON, WI – In the third quarterfinal match up of the day, fans were treated to a tough pitching duel as Oconomowoc and Bay Port both sent their respective Division 1 recruit aces to the mound. Oconomowc leaned on Jacksonville commit, senior RHP Logan Wonn, while Bay Port countered with their senior, Notre Dame commit Connor Hock. The match up lived up to the billing as Oconomowoc and Wonn came out victorious 1-0.

The Racoons scored in their first at bats as Zach Clayton got Oconomowoc on the scoreboard with an RBI single to right. The 1-0 lead proved enough for Wonn.

Wonn looked sharp from the get go and only allowed one Pirate runner to third base. Bay Port left their best scoring opportunity in the fifth when a sacrifice bunt advanced Tucker Noe to third base with one out. Wonn proceeded to strike out the next to batters and get out of the jam.

Bay Port’s Hock was equally impressive working six complete innings and striking out five along the way. The Pirates Joe Baier led the offense with a 2-for-3 day.

Wonn finished his day with three strikeouts, scattering five hits over seven innings pitched.

Oconomowoc advances to the semifinal nightcap and will face the winner of Baraboo and Janesville Craig.
