Wisconsin 2016 Ranking Updated: Biggest Risers

Earlier this week we updated Wisconsin’s 2016 player rankings and brought you up to speed on all the changes within the top 10, risers and new additions to the rankings (CLICK HERE for story). We’ve also taken a look at all of the new additions to the 2016 rankings and today we will take a deeper look at the risers and how they got there.

RHP Matt McCarty (South Milwaukee) made his way up into the top 10 for the first time. McCarty is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound righty that pounds the zone with three pitches. McCarty has been trending upward ever since the first time we saw him in his freshman year. His size and heavy fastball make for an incredibly tough at bat for opposing hitters and is now sitting in the 85-87 mph range with a plus potential changeup and complimentary slider.
