Wisconsin 2017 Rankings: Risers and Newcomers

Four seniors in particular made significant jumps in the ranks this fall – INF/OF Peter Ahn (Marquette University), RHP/SS Jonathan Dominguez (Catholic Memorial), OF Zach Carney (Kimberly) and RHP Nathan Hefle (Germantown).

Ahn showed extremely well this fall at the GPA Games, a speedy left-handed hitting athlete who has the ability to play multiple positions. Ahn committed to Michigan State soon after. Ahn cracked the top 20 jumping nearly 30 spots.

Jonathan Dominguez was one of the biggest revelations this fall on the mound. Dominguez showed a lively fastball at 86-87 with a swing and miss curveball that ready to play now. Dominguez’s recent revelations on the mound earned him a more than 60 spot jump into the top 25.

Moving up almost 40 spots into the top 40, Zach Carney recently committed to Wabash Valley JC and is a physical right-handed bat. Carney stands 6-foot-2, 185-pounds and runs a 7.08, with a big outfield arm.

Nathan Hefle jumped almost 20 spots showing improved command of his 85-87 mph fastball, while his secondary stuff played to keep hitters off balance.

The rankings were also expanded to 150, making way for several new additions. Some of the more notable in the top 100 included catchers Logan Rezash (Greendale) and Ryan Norton (Fond du Lac). Rezash looked to be one of the top defensive catchers still available until he recently committed to McHenry County JC.

Luke Kundinger (Waukesha West) is a two-way talent who stood out at shortstop. His knack for the baseball and strong arm across the diamond gives him a chance to stick there at the next level.

Pitchers RHP Patrick Tomfohrde (Pewaukee), RHP Brad Laufenberg (Verona Area) and LHP Bryce Wesling (New Berlin Eisenhower) all made the top 75.
