So early in their high school careers, many of these prospect see their names rise and fall throughout the years as they mature into next level prospects. The top of the rankings saw little change and there aren’t a ton of rising prospects, but on the verge of our first update in the overall 2018 rankings it’s time to add new prospects to the list.

So here’s a look at some new names in the 2018 rankings:

+ Alan Roden (Middleton) showed easy pop in his left-handed bat both at the 2018 Top Prospect Games and again recently at the Labor Day Challenge. Roden is the highest newcomer to the rankings and is surely a bat to follow.

+ RHP Sean O’Brien (Marquette University HS) is a big bodied arm to follow. Already touching 82 mph at 6-foot, 175-pounds, he’s a physical kid with a strong arm and big upside.

+ RHP Trajan Prochnow (Rio) was a big contributor to Rio’s first ever State Championship this spring. As a freshman, Prochnow pulled double duty as the Rio starting shortstop and one of their top arms. Prochnow most likely projects best on the mound where he already touches 80 mph and pounds the zone with multiple pitches.

+ Ty Olejnik (Hamilton Sussex) is another two-way prospect added to the rankings. Olejnik, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound L/L outfielder and pitcher, is a projectable prospect with a long frame that ran a 7.09 and showed 88 mph exit velocity off the tee at the Summer Preseason ID.

+ Bryce Konitzer (Mukwonago) also showed well at the Summer Preseason ID as another one of the top arms in attendance. Konitzer also touches 80 with his fastball and has athletic abilities as a position player.

+ Brady Butler (McFarland) and Tanner Kohlhepp (Eau Claire Memorial ) round out the top 25 and both are projectable frame type middle infielders. Both show the ability to defend well while Kohlhepp hits from the left-side.
