As the summer circuit wraps up, the 2026 class heads into their sophomore season after an eventful and significant couple of months. We highlight the newcomers on the 2026 board, as our rankings expanded to a top-50 in our most recent update.

Earlier this week, our staff officially updated our 2026 board, highlighting several of the state’s top prospects within our release. You can find that by clicking HERE

We’ll dive deeper into the rankings themselves today, shining light on a handful of players that earned a spot on our board after showing well to our staff. Below you’ll learn more about these names that are trending upward as the fall is set to start.

DEBUTING IN THE TOP-15

Chance Ruby SS / RHP / Wilmot Union, WI / 2026

One of the biggest winners from the summer circuit, Ruby makes his rankings debut high up on our sophomore board at No. 12. As just a freshman, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound two-way prospect was a mainstay for his Wilmot squad on both sides of the ball and created some buzz for himself due to his production. Then in the summer, Ruby completely broke out at the PBRT The Rock Open in late June. There, the athletic right-hander reached highs of 85 mph on the mound and also mixed in a sharp, low-70s curveball, too. Not were his innings on the bump impressive, but at the plate Ruby was also a standout performer as he collected a multitude of barrels from an easy and controlled right-handed swing. Defensively, he is an athletic defender up-the-middle with sure-handed actions and his previously mentioned arm strength will certainly allow him to stick on the left-side of the infield in the future. It has been a big year for Ruby and he now enters his sophomore year with a full head of steam, looking to build off of his illustrious first year of his prep career.
