The 2016 Draft was historic year for the state of Wisconsin. For the first time in more than 30 years, a high school prospect was taken in the first round. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Indian Trail SS Gavin Lux with the 20th overall selection, making him the highest high school prospect taken out of the Badger State since 1979. The Minnesota Twins took C Ben Rortvedt (Verona Area HS, WI) 36 spots later with their second-round pick.

The 2017 high school class is significantly lighter, as no high school prospects made the PBR Draft 100 and only a few of the top players in the state have seen pro interest. Wisconsin will still get some attention on draft day with Vanderbilt OF Jeren Kendall likely to be picked in the first round. He was a 30th-round pick out of Holmen HS in 2014 and has blossomed into a five-tool talent in his three years with the Commodores.

NONE

Others to Watch: RHPs Nathan Burns (West Bend West HS, WI) and Ryan Hoerter (Indian Trail HS, WI) are the two best possibilities of being late-round picks. Burns has shown easy stuff that commands the zone while sitting 89-91 mph.
