Top Prospects
Tyler Babel, Pennsbury HS, Class of 2020, RHP
Athletic 6-foot, 170-pound righty sat 81-84 while topping at 86 mph out of a high 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm. Fastball showcased some arm-side run and was commanded with regularity. Also showed feel for his curveball at 58-62 with 11/5 rotation. An effort to throw the curveball at the same arm speed as his fastball would improve the effectiveness of the pitch. A changeup that sat 76-77 was thrown at near fastball arm speed.
Dylan Brown, North Penn HS, Class of 2022, LHP/1B
6-foot-1, 175-pound primary pitcher is long and lanky with plenty of room to add to his projectable frame. Sat 76-79 from and easy, repeatable delivery with much more in the tank. Fastball showed natural cut out of a 3/4 arm slot. Curveball showed late, slider break at 70-71. Changeup showed similar arm speed at 67-68. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Showcased as short stroke with a line drive, middle of the field approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. Displayed capable footwork and a soft glove hand around the bag at first base with accurate 74 mph arm strength across the diamond.
Levi Clemens, North Marion HS (WV), Class of 2020, RHP/SS
5-foot-8, 145-pound two-way prospect showed a well rounded skill set. The primary pitcher sat 81-83 from a high 3/4 arm slot with consistent arm-side run to his fastball. Slider showed late break at 68-70 with above average arm speed. Changeup showed similar arm-side run at 74-76 with above average command. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to start. Showcased a direct swing path with a line drive approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. Displayed sound defensive mechanics with above average carry on throws of 80 mph across the diamond.
Mason Lieb, Penns Valley HS, Class of 2021, LHP
6-foot, 200-pound lefty turned in the most impressive bullpen of the event. He sat 83-85 out of a 3/4 arm slot with an easy, repeatable delivery. Uses his lower half efficiently and commands his fastball with regularity. Curveball at 69-72 showed heavy 1/7 break with a chance to induce plenty of ground balls. Changeup was commanded with fastball arm speed at 71-75 with natural cut. A projectable frame has room to continue to fill out and velocity gains are likely moving forward.
Additional Corner Infielders (in alphabetical order)
Sean Brennan, North Penn HS, Class of 2021, RHP
6-foot, 175-pound righty sat 80-81 while topping at 82 mph from a 3/4 arm slot and a short takeaway. Showed above average command of three pitches and some funk to his delivery that adds deception. Curveball at 68-71 showed tight 11/5 rotation and changeup at 70-75 flashed consistent arm-side run.
Connor Martz, Penns Valley HS, Class of 2021, RHP/OF
6-foot, 155-pound two-way prospect sat 78-82 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm. Fastball was commanded consistently and showed some arm-side run. Curveball tends to roll at 59-61 and changeup is thrown at near fastball arm speed at 75-77. The right-handed hitter starts from a narrow, square stance and begins with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased rhythm to his swing and his hands work well through contact. Registered a bat exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Flashed athletic actions defensively with solid carry on throws of 83 mph from the outfield. Well rounded skill set makes Martz a two-way prospect to follow in this class.
Jordan Stefanski, Hanover Area HS, Class of 2020, RHP
6-foot-2, 215-pound righty sat 77-81 out of a 3/4 arm slot. Arm swing is very long in back, but also get out in front on time at foot strike. Creates interesting angles to the plate and fastball is heavy. Curveball is a pitch in development at this time. The arm swing causes the pitch to roll out of the hand at 56-59. A cutter thrown at fastball arm speed would be more effective and paired with an effective changeup would give Stefanski three pitches to work with.
Daulton Steiner, Warwick HS, Class of 2021, RHP/2B
5-foot-7, 140-pound two-way prospect sat 74-76 from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound. Also showcased a curveball at 60-62 that has a tendency to roll and a slider with tighter break at 62-64. The right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and strides to square. Showcased a line drive approach with a middle of the field approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 78 mph and ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Displayed active feet defensively with a short, quick throwing motion and accurate 76 mph arm strength across the diamond.
Blake Trumbore, Olley Valley HS, Class of 2020, LHP
6-foot-1, 175-pound lefty sat 73-75 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with a compact, repeatable delivery. Fastball was commanded routinely with natural cut action. Curveball has tight, late 1/7 break at 64-68 and has the potential to be a swing and miss pitch. Changeup showed similar natural cut at 66-69. Projectable frame has room to add strength. Lengthening the takeaway could lead to some additional velocity moving forward.
