CLASS OF 2019

Cory Daly, SS/RHP, Jefferson HS (WV)
5-foot-9, 150-pound primary shortstop ran a 7.12 60-yard dash on this date, but ran a 6.94 at a previous PBR event this summer. Flashed athletic actions defensively with a quick first step and above average 84 mph arm strength across the diamond. The right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a short, lift-and-replace stride. Barreled the baseball consistently using all fields with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Sat 79-80 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with some natural cut to his fastball. Curveball displayed 11/5 rotation at 70-71 and changeup was thrown at 72-74 with near fastball arm speed. Overall athleticism will allow Daly to play multiple defensive positions at the next level with a potential move to the outfield a possibility.

Maclean Maund, LHP/1B, Penn-Trafford HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 165-pound primary pitcher has added 6-7 mph to his fastball in the past year. The lefty sat 79-81 from a high 3/4 arm slot with fluid, repeatable mechanics. Curveball displayed 1/7 rotation at 66-68 and changeup was thrown with good sell at 67-68. Left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a short, lift-and-replace stride. Hands work well through contact with a flat barrel path and an above average feel for the barrel. Put together several quality at bats during game action while displaying the ability to use all fields.

Scott Patton, RHP/3B, Central Valley HS (PA)
6-foot, 180-pound primary pitcher sat 74-76 from a 3/4 arm slot working three scoreless innings with two strikeouts and three hits allowed. Curveball with 11/5 rotation at 64-66 was used effectively to induce six ground ball outs. Right-handed hitter displayed a long, flat swing path with some barrel drag from a wide, square stance. Registered an 81 mph bat exit velocity and went 2-for-6 with a walk during game action. Ran an 8.03 60-yard dash and displayed 73 mph arm strength across the diamond defensively.

Alec Wehler, SS/RHP, Elk County Catholic HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 160-pound primary infielder ran a 7.31 60-yard dash and showcased accurate 71 mph arm strength across the diamond with capable glove work. The right-handed hitter showcased a line drive approach at the plate with a feel for the barrel and a middle-opposite field geared swing. Went 1-for-3 in game action. The right-hander sat 72-75 from a high 3/4 arm slot during three innings of work with three strikeouts. Works quickly and attacks the zone utilizing a curveball with 11/5 rotation at 61-63 as primary secondary offering. Also flashed the ability to drop down on occasion to offer a different look to his fastball.
